Thinking about putting some Kevlars on my 2020 Sport. Minor offroading, lots of extremely hill gravel roads, otherwise road miles. Occasional snow but nothing deep, more ice probably.

Interested in smoothness and noise on the highway and gas mileage change.

    Thoughts?

These came stock on my Pro. They were terrible tires for anything but highway and I regret not swapping them out immediately. The Kevlar is a marketing play.

They had really poor snow / ice traction compared to other ATs. Off-road traction was nothing to write home about.

For the driving you’re going to do, take a look at Michelin Defender LTX, Falken Wildpeaks or the Cooper Discoverer 4S depending on what price point / look you want

Thanks for the advice. Definitely looking for something that isn't a hard tire. Had some BFG pre-KO2, felt every bump in the road, then one of them started having balancing issues but dealer claimed it was the rim. It wasn't. I ended up just trading out the vehicle way before the tires wore out.

I've put 19000 miles on the GYear All Terrain Adventures that came stock on my OR. At first I thought that they were not as bad as some make them out to be. That was until last winter. While the tires are quiet, help with fuel economy, are decent for light offroading (even in light mud), they are absolutely worthless in winter conditions. We didn't even have a bad winter last year yet these tires just can't handle slush, ice or light snow. I have NEVER had a tire 'hydroplane' in slush before until last winter with these Goodyears. I don't recommend them for anything other than a 3 season highway tire. Even then there are better options in that tire category.

I ended up purchasing Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3's. No real miles on them yet, will post an update when I drive them for a bit.

I have the revo 3 in stock size on my truck. Just over 10k miles so far. Very happy with them. Quiet on highway yet still plenty good for what I do off-road. Biggest thing was I did not notice a drop in gas mileage.

I guess I'll see that drop soon. How much did it drop on your vehicle? I've never considered the Tacoma to be really good on gas mileage anyway. Sort of surprising, I think my 5.7L F-150 was better on gas than the Tacoma.

Continental Terrain Contact AT. Super quiet, ride as good as Michelins, stay balanced, steering is nimble for a truck, look good but not KO Bro obnoxious. I’ve had mine for almost a year and love them.

    @mhornco

How do the Revo3's perform in light mud and winter conditions? Light mud defined as 6" or so deep.

Way too early to tell, in our area we may not have snow until next March :) Road noise and ride are as smooth as the stock Toyo A30s. Have not noticed (yet) any gas mileage difference. The first thing I was looking for was a smooth ride, got that. Have driven in heavy range and the wider gaps in the grooves seemed to displace water very well. No hydroplaning and I specifically headed for what looked like deeper standing water.

Loose gravel, up hill, going around curves, no spinning out.

    So far so good.

For the first 200 miles...then I got rid of them.
I noticed they pulled to the left.

These came stock on my Pro... and I've had 3 flats. Only 5000 km on them, but I drive gravel roads. Been an absolute nightmare, none of the guys I know running stock tires have had problems like I have with these tires.

I put 76k on Dynapro A/Ts and they were absolutely the worst tire compound on wet roads.....scared the sh*t out of me every time I drove in the rain, but 76K miles.....so, there's that.
