No money, all went to truck...
So I hauled my heaviest load in my bed so far. I had 1000+ lbs of pavers in the bed. I was pleasantly surprised that engine-wise, I couldn't really feel any difference with weight. Suspension wise, the truck sagged quite a bit but was OK too. Would have helped if I loaded the bricks against cab rather than in the middle/end of bed.

If toyota can make the tacoma with same output but 30mpg, that'd be perfect.

Might be possible with this turbo 2.0 engine....

lol did the same thing accidently. I loaded up 35 16x16x2 concrete pavers and was thinking they were 11-12 lbs each which came out to 420 lbs.

then I go back and look more closely, they where 42 lbs each. ouch ouch ouch. almost 1500 lbs of weight.

thank god I only did 20-25 mph on surface streets, and only 45 on the highway.

1 mile of highway and 2 miles of surface streets and I went the back way to minimize any issues across the board.

    my 2nd load I only did 21 pavers @ 900 lbs.

kicking myself for not double checking the paver weight.

    Things I need to tow.
I've hauled a ton of wood pellets many times in both my original 1st gen and now my 2nd gen. Trucks haven't complained, but I go very slow and no more than a mile or two from the store.

Hopefully you didn't load it by hand. The difference between your two numbers is a shit ton to have gone unnoticed after the first block haha.

well me and the warden loaded the first load of 35 by hand and the 2nd load of 21, didn't seem like much. but driving grandma gingerly helped make the whole ordeal a non issue that we didn't even notice.

on the 2nd load, I forgot to move over on the highway since there is one spot where there is a frost heave in the road that causes the suspension to bottom out on the stops if you have any decent load.

when that happened, I was hmmm why did that happen when it was suppose to be less than 500 lb load. then I rechecked the weight of a single paver and said dam, I was way off on the weight of each.

I kind of did the same thing and didn't really calculate weight till after I hauled bricks. I hauled 55 12x12x2 pavers. I assumed they weighed 10-15 lbs, I was way under capacity. I looked it up and they are something like 22 lbs.

I had to haul 14 miles over a mountain. Truck did fine up to 55mph, felt super good. little light on steering because of rear end sag but I was stoked at how well she handled.

Sorry no pics. Didn't think to take any.

This would be an excellent situation for air bags, might think of putting them in later, although I don't haul a lot of stuff very often.

I have a quarry ticket from yesterday with 1450lb of gravel in my '11 ac, stopped for 200lb Portland cement and I live on the side of a mountain.

    No big deal

6x6x10' cedar , estimated by wood species / moisture content calculation at around 1500-1600lbs

How does it ride without a load? I feel like it must be a little stiff.

My cap and tools are about 450lbs , rides stiffer than stock but carries weight great which is important for me

The extra 450 lbs probably helps smooth out the ride a bit as well. Every time I have a load in the back the truck rides smooth, then I take it out and it's back to the teeth rattling.
