Has anyone installed the OEM Qi Wireless charging after purchase?

Many seem to dislike the factory set-up but I am looking to add it to my Tacoma. I have purchased the Qi enabled cubby and also the proper dash switch but was wondering if anyone is able to confirm the existence of the wiring harness that connects to the button?

The lower harness connection at the cubby does appear to be in place but I could not see or feel an empty harness connector on the button side. I'd rather order the part ahead of time if needed rather than rip the dash apart twice. Any help or possibly a schematic would really be appreciated.

    Cheers guys

Also curious if you have figured this out as i have the sr5 model and would like to add this feature! Do you have part numbers for the cubby and button and what not? Thanks

I hope you tried to charge your phone with another Qi tacoma before you bought the parts. If you have any kind of a case, it does not work very well at all. I have to put my S6 in a VERY specific location in the cubby and it might initiate charge 30% of the time there. Not worth it in my opinion. It also heats the hell out of your phone.

I can leave my iPhone charging on mine for 25 minutes and it will gain about 1 or 2% battery

I found the charger to be very unreliable. Sometimes, it works exactly as expected with my Samsung. More often than not, however, it "beeps", alerting me of it overheating. All the while (prior to the alert), it just drew a bunch of juice out of the battery. I really do wish it worked reliably, as it would be very convenient.

Be nice if it was possible to switch out the oem one for let's say, a Samsung one. Use a Samsung qi charger at home on galaxy s9 with case and works great. But the one on the taco charges so slow and just heats up the phone

Someone on here did that. Used a Samsung wireless charger from home I think. I’m on cell so hard to search.

As others have said it's pretty worthless. If I have bluetooth and music going it only holds my current charge and gets super hot. I did find out one day you can plug it in to the usb and sit it on the Qi mat and it'll charge twice as fast - still slow but better. Only problem is it overheats after a bit.

Mine is touch and go on my S8(does have a case). No issues with it lining up, or charging.... but, it will overheat.
I found it more susceptible, when using pandora from the phone, etc...

I did that, I put a SPONGE (autozone) with a cutout for the samsung QI Home Charger (took it apart and only left the actual charger not the plastic rounf Sansung plate) then put a cutout plastic that I made from an old rubbermaid shoe box and then topped it off with a black liner and works GREAT! will send pics later.
