Hey guys, my dad is trying to change a bulb on his 2017 F150. Nothing on youtube looks like his housing, they all have dust covers that can be easily pulled off to swap the bulb. Anyone have any ideas? 7E36D978-E8E1-452F-8B5C-40FFDE067205.jpg

Every other 2017 F150 has circular housing that have pull tabs.

It’s a 2017 platinum edition FX4 off road eco boost F150, and those plates look like they are just one mold with the rest of the assembly. I’m also 99% sure it’s OEM.

edit: he bought it new so they are for sure OEM.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Thinking about this I had to pull the complete headlight assemble out from the Front to swap bulbs

The grill needed to be removed as well to access the hardware

Sorry potentially stupid question... But are they for sure bulbs? Almost makes me wonder if they're sealed because they're LED.

If they’re Leds and sealed is there no way to access them?

Honestly no clue. It was just a guess. LEDs shouldn't just suddenly die from old age but will dim over time.

If it's completely dead then most likely it's a driver or other electrical issue.

I know absolutely nothing about Ford headlights, though, I'm just speaking generally with regard to LEDs.

if its a sealed headlight that sucks balls... id say check under the dash or hood for the fuses for the headlights and check that. LED bulbs should not be out, according to google, they are Cree led chips and they have somewhere around 50,000 hours. Thats almost 6 years straight being on. If not the fuses he may have to call ford and ask them if its a sealed unit and any warranty on same. All i can find is how to upgrade the Halogen to LED.

Those are LED. If it's not working, it's a unit problem. Warranty?
