I just bought a new set of Cooper STT PRO's ( 315/75/16 ) and yes I re-geared, CMC, and OVtune . Also had an alignment done right before install. However, I have put about 2,000 miles on these and cant seems to get them balanced correctly. I have been back 4 times now to Discount Tire and they are using a road force balancer but I still get a pretty bad vibration from 45-50mph and gain at 65-70mph. Just curious if anyone else has had an experience like this with DT. Going to a different shop on Monday that specializes in bigger trucks and M/T tires so ...

It's the nature of the beast.

Drive them, wear them down a bit, then rebalance them.

The thing is, this is probably my 6th set of Cooper M/T's and you always get some mild vibrations from a 10ply tire on a mid size truck but this time its bad. My bed looks like its twerking when I hit those 2 speed ranges :taco: lol. Ill post an update after I have this other shop check it out.

I jave coopers as well, 33, Discount Tire did a great job on mine, but i get them rebalanced at evwry rotation, and its needed.

For tires as big as you have, id just go straight to balance beads. Thats how i balanced my 35 inch Coopers, same mud tire, on my old Xterra, never an issue. And never a need to rebalance.

How exactly do these beads work? I heard about them before with tires 35 and up.

Mud tires are always harder to balance. And they are harder to manufacture and get them round. There is a good chance you have at least one tire that is defective and causing the problem.

good point. I had a set of Toyo M/T's and that exact thing happened. They also pulled to the right no matter what they did so I returned them and went a different route. If this new shop confirms that I'm bringing proof back to Discount Tire and demanding a new set lol

I think it’s like slime tire repair. Cooper is a good brand I’m sure the next shop will figure it out. Or let you know one is defective.

I too had a shake from 52-58 on my coopers. Went away after a few thousand miles a rotation and re balance had me squared away. 20k later it's back. Just an MT thing. I notice it worse on bad roads. Smooth road it almost doesn't happen
