For anyone with a 2016 or 2017, have you done this with OEM All weather floor mats?

I would like to with mine but am not sure if its even an option.

The ones that screw or press into the carpet worry me that they might wear off the rust protection of the cab over time. This is probably not an issue, but just my own mind working against me.

There was someone here who installed three matching snaps on the mat and carpet. I think that is what I will do and add a layer of protection on the bottom of the carpet. I've replaced and added snaps to my riding gear in the past. Pretty easy to do.

Heck, Ill take any any mod that prevents it from sliding around. I have to keep telling my wife to make sure it hasn't slid up every time she gets out of the truck.

How do think that would happen?

I grabbed a set of the mat holders, one side screws into the carpet but nothing else. Then you just cut a hole through the mats and install the ring. All set and now your passenger mat won't move anymore

I cant remember 100% but I think under the floor matt over the steel floor there's like 3/16" of floor protector. It's pretty hard shit. And the carpet mat is like 1/2" thick so should be okay. You could always trim the screw down.

I agree though the alternative press fit together ones look much better.

I was dealing with the same thing with my GF and couldn't take it anymore. Bought a set off Ebay and it was well worth it. Speaking of I should have an extra 2 since I got a set of 4 that I could send you to use

Everyone that gets in moves it. I don't even bother mentioning it. Just slide it back to where it should be when they get out.

I've just keep forgetting to stop at the store to get black snaps.

Thanks! I know there was some on the firewall but was unsure how far back it went. I didn't look like there was anything under the rear seat bolt locations when I installed spacers.

@LivinOnEdge I'll snap a picture of what I have at lunch and if you like what you see & I find my others I'll just send you them to save you $$. They'll just collect dust until they end up in the trash otherwise.

Thanks boss man! I was thinking too, should I hot glue or put some kind of adhesive around the screw before jamming it in the carpet to perhaps prevent fraying or easy/accidental removal?

Every time some one steps there, the plastic is going to move / grind against the metal floor. I'm not worried about the metal, but the rust protection. Sort of not making one thing better and another worse. Like I said, a lot of it is in my head, over thinking it.

I haven't had any issue and they've been on for over a year. It would certainly secure them better but a bit over kill. They are just plastic screws that will go into the carpet and padding.

If any liquid gets on the carpet regardless it will quickly sink to the metal. I mean, people get the carpet shampooed occasionally right?

100% I've never seen my move of cause any issues. It's only plastic so that shouldn't really scratch metal/paint

Not an easy place to inspect, so I'd rather not worry.

I've seen plastic abrade and remove paint / coatings in the past. It's all good.
