Originally developed over 50 years ago for the Apollo space program. Curious if anyone has used this clear, glossy, flexible resin that dries hard in their Tacoma wheel wells. It looks promising and is used in many industries such as agriculture, etc. I just ordered some and will be applying it soon. I will report back soon with the finished results.

I'm a Krown Rustproofing fan for life, but Nyalic looks very interesting, as I've never heard of it before.

    Great idea~

    Do spacecraft rust?

I'm a big fan of 3M Cavity wax

The big pro that I like is that it dries glossy and hard. Dirt and grime won’t stick to it like Fluid Film, etc. It appears to act like a flexible but hard clear coat for the undercarriage.

I'd be afraid shit would get underneath it and rust. Much like a rubber undercoating

I like that stuff too, does a great job covering and is not a sticky mess, also doesn't smell like a chemical factory.

The problem with a hard coat (including paint and rubberized undercoating) is that it is impossible to get complete coverage on an assembled vehicle. Eventually the uncoated areas will start to rust and that will creep under the hard coating (which will trap moisture and make things worse).

There's also the problem of properly preparing the surface to receive the hard coat.

I used to use a 2 part paint product but I was probably only covering half (at best) of what needed to be coated.

Now I start with a clean vehicle and spray a soft coating using various wands to get full coverage. I use Fluid Film but there are lots of oil and/or wax based options.

My 3-can order came in the mail last week. I scrubbed my fender wells squeaky clean, let it dry for 3 days then sprayed on Nyalic.

The Nyalic is a water-clear, flexible, hard-coat resin that provides permanent clear coat protection. It is not a wax, paraffin, polish or any other type of sacrificial coating. When properly applied it will not yellow, crack, peel or flake.

2.5 spray cans later and here are the results. I also sprayed my differential but did not take photos...

So if it’s hard, what happens when a rock gets thrown up? Does it chip? Crack? Begin to flake?

how did this go for you? I used it on my bilstien shocks bc they were famous for rusting. So far about 3 years later they are great! I just used it on the re-powder of my rear bumper... Super curious about your results
