My balancer looks to have a slight wobble. Ran by the dealer today and had a couple guys look at it, and they said it should run truer than that. And they compared it with some other ones and they ran true. Only thing they said they could do is replace it. Question is... Has anyone had to replace their balancer before 60k miles? seems really soon. But he said they are basically just a piece of rubber inside it that can wear out. Anyone?

I had to replace one on another Asian SUV with about 250K on the motor. You have another thread going on about belt squeal. Like you, I replaced the usual suspects to no avail. One day I was pulling out the the parking lot at work and the harmonic balancer finally gave up the ghost.

I think I'm just gonna have to replace it. My 3 week old belt got to squealin too bad again, and I had to put another one on. The dealer said it should run true. It just seems like I'm havin issues way way to early on this thing at only 60 k

What is exactly involved? does it require a puller? other issue is I don't have anything to lock up the motor to loosen or re torque the crank bolt, that's why I didn't fix the crank seal myself either. I also want to use a true OEM part, and its 240 online best I can find. Or I can get a Dorman brand for bout 85. Dealer wanted 290
