So I successfully pulled my harmonic balancer off my truck (2004 4cyl 2.7l single cab 4x4). I purchased a replacement on Rockauto which you can see on the left. But when I pulled the one off the truck (pulley on the right side in the pic), i figured I'd be able to just separate the 3 pulleys by taking off the 4 10mm bolts in the face of the front most pulley. However, they seem to be stuck together or cast as one piece. Are these in fact one piece or do i just need to put some more work into getting them separated? Rockauto didn't have any items that looked like the triple pulley that I pulled off my truck.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I decided to maybe throw some parts at this problem. Being that the pulley i ordered from the dealer was only $15 i should have known that it wouldn't solve my problem. See the part for Crankshaft Pulley #2 and also see it sitting on the aftermarket HB that i bought. Seems i am still missing another pulley? Has nobody ran into this problem before? i am stumped.

from what I remember when I replaced my HB, the pulleys all kinda get fused together. You may just have to get rough with it... pry 'em apart or smack 'em with a hammer.

Wow a SINGLE response and that was all it took for me to get this thing figured out. Thanks @ireymon . Your comment gave me enough to go ahead and get this thing apart. I sprayed it with a little PB Blaster and used a screwdriver and a couple whacks of the hammer and this thing came into 3 pieces. I'll be doing a full account when i have the HB installed on the truck, but this part was frustrating. So the HB assembly is actually 3 pieces. The piece on the far left is the Harmonic balancer, or as toyota calls it "crankshaft pulley". The piece all the way to the right is the part # i posted above - 88451-34010, also confusingly called "Crankshaft pulley". the piece in the middle is the mystery piece. Cant find this on any parts diagrams. I have a suspicion that Toyota includes it in the 13408-75030 which is either $325 or $215 depending where you get it. Anyway, glad i didnt have to pay that for the entire assembly now that i have it apart. Gonna clean these up and get on with the job now.

Awesome, I'm glad you were able to get them apart! Don't forget the little half-moon woodruff key in the crank groove when you put the pulleys back on the crank. I almost missed it!

sometimes that little key gets stuck and sometimes it falls right out. Just make sure yours is in place when you're bolting it all back together.

haha, that's why I wanted to say something. It's such a small, tiny thing it's easy to miss or overlook. Hopefully everything goes back together smoothly!
