Hi just sharing the most badass bike rack available on the market - made in USA

If you care about your bike then you understand the important of being able to transport it safely and securely.

Just got 1Up's double bike rack and the thing is bullet proof. Solid, thick, aluminum structure with heavy duty bolts and washers. It's a tank. No other way to go. Never have to buy a bike rack again

Show them some love if you're in the market

Looks well built and thought out, but that price. I guess you get what you pay for.

I bought a Hollywood 4 bike rack that is stellar. Incredibly solid and well thought out. Cost me around $450, which compared to the other racks similar made by Thule and Yakima it's a steal (those come in a little over $1000). Separates the bikes upright, folds when not in use and is adjustable to accommodates a toddler bike all the up to adult bike sizes.

Best part about it is it's a two-piece setup so you can carry just two bikes, two bikes with a cargo basket, or 4 bikes. Allows me to carry two bikes a generator in the cargo basket when I'm not taking the family.

Great logic if you have a bike that's not $1,000+.

if you have a bike that expensive then you're not worried about the price of the carrier :p

I've done more damage to my bike riding it than my truck bed will ever do. It's a $2000+ bike.

Isn't cheap buy you get what you pay for. It's all extruded, cut, and machined aluminum. And when it comes to $5,000 + bikes it's a small price to pay.
Many people don't realize what crappy bike racks do to the shocks and frame. Just kills them

The thule, yakima racks aren't much cheaper and those aren't half as nice

I also own this rack. It’s the best thing ever.
I’ve taken it through tons of snow storms and salty roads and rain etc etc and it still functions perfectly.

Company is awesome. Sells replacement parts easily. You can expand it to take up to four bikes. Yes the truck bed works but this is very quick and so much easier and let’s me keep tons of other gear in the bed.

Buy the add-on pull handle when you order. Makes life a lot easier.

No doubt that's a high quality rack. Just... freakin expensive.

Why is putting your expensive bike behind the bumper a better place? Arguably it's more protected in the bed... I've been rear-ended - would suck to have my $4k bike take the brunt of that rather than my hitch receiver.

Back in the day when I had a 1st gen 4Runner, I had a hitch rack for my bikes (well, for 2 of them, anyway, lol). It was some cheapo $150 rack but it held my bikes no problem. It was fully adjustable, although you essentially had to take it apart to adjust the wheel tracks. I don't even remember the brand, but it was great.

Was it the sturdiest thing in the world? Not when I threw my 50# DH bike on it, lol. For that, I would just use a $5 ratchet strap from bumper to seatpost to other side of bumper to keep my pig from swaying around. With that strap it wouldn't move an inch, even when I was, um, "testing" my suspension... Was the hardware top quality? No, but $15 at Ace easily fixed that. I also had to bend out the wheel tracks to fit my 2.5" DH wheels.

I wish I still had it, actually. When I got my new 4Runner I wanted another, but since I am often towing my camper trailer as well, the hitch rack made less sense.

Yeah rocky trails made quick work of making my brand new Kona look 10 years old. Hitch racks wont work for me since I work in the hood.

What does a cheap bike rack do to the shocks??

As a former bike mechanic, shop manager, and racer, I'd be interested to hear your theories on that.

When ever I would build a new bike, I'd kick it over in the shop. The sooner you get that first scratch out of the way, the less timid you'll be on the trail.

My bike has done more damage to ME, and it is a sizeable multiple of that.

I wouldnt go that far. But I understood that buying a mtb means its gonna get treated well, like a mtb. I was never timid because I wanted to keep my bike nice.

One of my buddies loves to detail his bike after every ride. I may or may not always find some absolute mud pit for the next run...
