Had to get my instrument cluster sent off for repair due to check engine light related to wheel speed sensor (can't remember the code). Anyway I got the truck back today and on the way home, I discovered the cluster brightness wheel doesn't dim the lights, and the lights related to the AC/Heater/fan controls and the shifter lights (D, R, N etc) no longer work.

I called the dealership and informed them of the problems but I was without the truck for the last 20 days and can't take it back until next month to get it checked. Is it likely the tech left something unplugged? I'm not touching it and will let them fix it, but I hate the thought of them having to send the cluster off again.

I sure hope it's that simple. Someone told me they might've bent/broken connection pins on the back of the cluster. I'm stupid, so I gotta wait to see what they find. Me experimenting on things never ends well.

A bent pin at the cluster would only affect the cluster not the rest of the lights, but leaving the dimmer unplugged would cause the cluster to go to max brightness and all other backlights to be inop.

    That's reassuring, thank you!

I'll report back once I get it back to the shop.
