Who is a good/solid company to buy a HID kit for the wife's Camry from? Don't want to go TRS, bad past experience.

Not an HID kit suggestion but I went thru the same research looking for better bulbs for the GF's Lexus CT200h. I'm just not a big fan of aftermarket HID or LED kits. It seems very hit or miss when it comes to actual lumen output and longevity. And prices are all over the place. I've decided to try using Philips H9 bulbs. You have to very slightly modify the tabs and lumens is said to be about double of the H11. While being safe to use as they don't get too hot for the housing or the wiring. I've got them ordered from Amazon for $7 each. So it's a cheap experiment/upgrade. They should be here tomorrow and I'll let you know how they turn out.

Please do. I'd be interested to see a before and after.

The Phillips really don't compare to HIDs. I pulled out my HIDs to try them and let's just say I went back to my HIDs when I got back from the test drive lol. They are a simple and cheap upgrade from the stock lights.

I run XD HIDs (5000k) and I like them, minus the headlight shake but that is on Toyota, not the HIDs.

I went thru HIDconcept.com as they offered a Philips option. I’ve been running them for a year and a half with zero issues and the Philips glass is amazing.

Phillips 4300k HIDs were great and super bright but man, they HID shake I had with those was unbearable. The intensity of the bulb made it SO noticeable going over any imperfection in the road for me. I switched to XD 5000k bulbs and its a lot better, still pretty bright but not as much noticeable shake.

Different bases... that was the sole reason not going with XD. The HIDconcepts are a better rebase than XD. Mine only shake when doing some serious off-roading and it’s still not bad considering the terrain.

I've seen reports of shaking from all different brands of HIDs in the tacoma. The same HIDs won't shake in a different make of vehicle but put them in the Tacoma and they do. I have tried a lot of different..uh gaskets/orings for the bulbs, some being so thick I could barely get them to lock in the headlights and they still shake.

Not too worried on the shake yet, I'm sure that'll change. Haven't looked into HIDconcepts yet.

What about LED bulbs vs HID?

Why go with a "kit?" Put your own together if you want the best. Here is a set up I put together for the wifes 2018 4runner. It is Philip's XV2 rebase H11 bulbs, HD relay harness, and denso OEM Lexus ballasts. Extremely quick start up and perfect white light. None of the funky tones like most aftermarket HIDs have. This is basically like an OEM HID system.

Sorry I couldn't get good before and after pics as I did the work in the morning. I will say it's a nice upgrade from stock. Especially for the money. I'm sure it doesn't compare to a nice HID system. But it's hard to beat $14 for 2 bulbs.
