Hey guys Ive just starting hearing a noise from my fuel tank filler tube while the truck is siting at idle. Its a 2009 PreRunner with the 4.0 v6. Ive had it since it was new and never have heard this noise before. It only happens when the truck is fully warmed up. It sounds almost like something blowing bubbles in the fuel filler tube.
Ive starting looking at the EVAP system to see if there is a leak or something obvious. The one thing Ive found to get the noise to stop is if I unhook the evap hose from the fuel tank to the Vacuum Switching Valve when it is cycling. The noise immediately starts again when I re-attach the hose. It has no dash lights and truck runs perfect.
Im trying to sell the truck within the next couple of months so Im trying to get everything in order before it goes up for sale.
Im not really sure where to look from here so anything will help.

There's a breather coming up from the fuel tank, the opening of which has a filter that clamps around the filler neck and kinda acts as a bushing between the filler neck and the body. It's garbage and not meant for any dust or dirt, honestly. Once it gets clogged up, the fuel tank can't vent - has to vent when it can out of the fuel neck. Is it also hard to fill with fuel? That's how I really noticed mine. I fixed it the redneck way, so I won't even suggest it.. but you can get a new breather OEM I'm sure

Ill have to check this out. Its not hard to fill with fuel at all. Everything is normal besides the noise. I bought a new gas cap to see if it fixes anything. The clicker is broken on it and has been for a few years so I figured might as well swap it out since I'm having issues. Ill update if anything changes.
