Super helpful write-up. I think we will pass unless we stumble upon a steal of a deal on these tires. I was impressed by the 3PMS rating on a budget level tire. We take trips in the wife's Bronco from NOVA to Snowshoe WV in winter so these were on radar. Also it seems that the only way they are sold in our 33" size is in the E rated version, although very light weight for an E. Might shift my sights to Falken or Kumho with 3PMS rating trying to get SL and light weight. Thanks for the details!

@2k2 thanks for the write up. I bought Wildpeaks for my previous truck in late 2018 and they were a decent quality, budget priced tire. When I started looking around for tires for my then new Taco in 2022 they were no longer budget priced and IMO there were better options in their higher price point. I went with Cooper Rugged Treks and I like them better. I find they perform better in the snow and also on wet roads. Down side is they're a little more noisy but I can live with it.

    No worries.

I mean .... I guess you get what you pay for.... At my age I should know better, but I decided to take a shot . I paid less than $500 for 4 tires, and I was very excited to have purchased something made right here in the USA. You might have better luck with E load .. one person even said they had no issues in the wet weather running these tires (however his were made in China).

The noise and the wet traction are similar to just about every other AT tire I've ever had... Loud and sloppy (especially at higher mileage).

I can't give a good snow review..sorry.. they were fine in the one or 2 small snowfalls we had

I had a real good experience with the AT3W wildpeaks. In fact they were the best all around SL AT tire I've ever ran. In the next year or so I'll be keeping an eye open for a deal on a set of the Falkens Rubitreks... They have better on road mannerisms than the wildpeaks and have all the same features (they just don't look as aggressive). By the time I get 45k on these I'll ditch them... At least now I have elbow room to shop around for a deal and just sit on them.

    25k Mile Update

Leds start with the bad first......
    Wet handling:
From the start these tires were crap getting going from a dead stop in the rain/wet. Things haven't improved. Getting going from a stop they wanna peel .. I haven't experienced any slipping or sliding in the wet under other circumstances. Cornering, hydroplane characteristics, stopping hard all seem to be fine. Ive played with tire pressure and rotating patterns, but nothing has really helped. It just is what it is unfortunately. Below par and disappointing.

    Road noise:
For an SL AT tire these were loud right out of the gate. They haven't gotten any better, however at 25k they aren't as bad as some other AT tires I've ran. Not a deal breaker by any stretch, but annoying.

    Durability:
Bad luck has a lot do do with the fact I've picked up 3 flats in these over the course of 25k. One was on the very edge of the tread pattern and I was able to plug them, but sometimes you wonder.
I have also noticed whenever there's a drop in temp by 10-20 degrees my tires need air. I have always seasonally had to put air in going from summer to fall/winter, but this has become an annoying hassle. Going from 80 to 50, 50 to 30, 30 to 20, now 20 to 10... I've never had to play with air pressure so damn much.

    Now the not so bad.......
    Dry handling:
Still no complaints with any type of highway and/or dry road handling. No issues at all.

    Snow:
We finally got enough snow and Ice to write something here. Although we didn't get deep snow l,we had enough. These tires handled the unplowed roads just fine, however I generally use 4x4 and take it slow in the snow. No slipping, no sliding, no worries.

    Ice:
I did encounter plenty of regular and black ice this winter the VSC generally kicks on. I was actually surprised at how well these tires managed the early morning commute on 10 degree weather. Even when the tank is nearly empty these tires have done well throughout the freeze and thaw cycles this winter.

    Mud/Sand/Rock:
Deep sand --- no problem -- I kayak with my wife and we've had the truck on some sandy beaches with no problems
Mud --- shallow... No issues other than making a mess flinging rooster tails on my paint
Rock ---N/A... Still no mountain trips.

    Treadwear:
    Nothing impressive or unimpressive

Overall for the price I paid they are ok, if the wet traction wasn't an issue I might even be singing these tires praises, but that is a deal breaker for me.

The next 20 k we will see how these finish up. Most likely I will be running a different tire next time.
