I purchased my 2008 DCLB on consignment fro a used-car dealership a few weeks ago, and one of the conditions of the sale was that the owner would pay for a brand new set of tires. I like the look of the tires that I have now, so I specified that they would have to be the same dimensions (265/70/R17).

The dealer showed me the tires that they ordered and I am just wondering if anyone has any input on them; good or bad. I did some googles and searched the forum, but there is little information on this brand "Groundspeed". What I did find is that they are a subsidiary of Sentury tires. They are obviously a budget tire, and you will have to excuse that I am new to the realm of larger tires, so I am wondering if there is cause for concern here.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these tires, or if there is anything to consider about having a budget tire like these on my truck.

I drive a Prerunner, and my taco is mainly used for commuting and light-duty work, so I don't need anything crazy. If I am honest, I like the aesthetic of the tire, but want to make sure I am not making a mistake by running this particular set.

    Any input would be appreciated!

Can you tell them you'll pick your own tires? You'll be stuck with them for 50k, I'd rather choose my own tires

In retrospect, that is what I wish I would've done. When I was working out the paperwork, the owner looked up tires that were the same size that he could get for cost, and this is what they came up with. Without hesitation, I took a look at the set, and agreed on the terms. So in essence, I will be stuck with them. I think I may have overestimated the cost of tires at the time (not much time to do research), and it seemed like a good deal at the time. I wouldn't say that I am too stressed about the situation, I just want to make sure there are no obvious red flags here. I guess time will tell if I got the short end of the stick.

Doesn't hurt to run them and see if you like them. If you don't, you can probably resell on craigslist and get what you want

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Try them out and report back after some mileage. We are a bunch of brand snobs so it'll be good to see info on budget friendly tires.

I haven't seen any reviews on this brand of tire but I'm pretty certain these are produced by Sentury Tire which builds safe, entry-level tires.

Bought 4 of these 5 months ago 265 75 16 E rated 10 ply. They are wearing well and do good in the rain. Handling in corners well, not much roll. They have some hum but not any worse then other ATs I've had. Got to use them last weekend in the snow on some forest roads with. 5 or 6 inches on snow they did great with driving and braking. So far been really happy with them. For a little over $500 mounted and balanced I didn't think it was a bad deal1202190754.jpg

Mud great, have been on a few in non maintained trails with some rocky incline and declines and seemed to work well. I don't do any hard core wheelin though
