I was browsing valve cover gaskets to RockAuto and noticed that some come with grommets and spark plug tube seals.

Are the "spark plug tube seals" the rubber washers that go with the bolts that go near the spark plug tubes?

What are the grommets? Do they go around each hole on the valve cover next to the gasket?

So what do you call the rubber washers that go on the three long bolts in the middle of each valve cover?

    Are they sold separately?

You'll find v/c gasket sets with and without sealing washers

But you usually won't find sealing washers by themselves

Yeah, I might take the risk and reuse the old ones, which do look like they've seen better days. Simply because replacing them after the fact is easy (accessible), just remove the air intake to reach.

The important part is that you get the RTV in the correct spots.
It’s in one of the link I posted on one of your post.

Do you use the RTV to hold the gasket in place so it doesn't fall out upon the installation (as it goes on the underside of the valve cover)?

No, you use it where the valve cover, the the block, and timing cover come together.
Other wise there is a good chance you will have a leak.

If you are referring to all the 3 coming together, I am pretty sure the valve covers do not mate against the block anywhere. The timing cover does mate both of the other 2 but not in the same place.

I am guessing you meant where the timing cover mates against the valve cover and where the former again mates the block.

But isn't the seal between the valve cover, the timing cover and the cylinder heads done by the valve cover gasket ?

OK, that makes sense. In my frame of reference, the heads are not part of the block.

They are not part of the block.
    I said the wrong thing.

    Here is an example

Good idea to cover the air intake shafts with a rag so that shit doesn't fall into the cylinders.
