What’s everyone’s deal with the pro grille? I see more Tacoma’s on the road with the pro grille than any other grille. I get that it looks good but what’s wrong with the sport or the OR? I personally love the OR grille, I got one for $50, sprayed it black and put it on my SR and I think it looks awesome. Also for those of you that have an aftermarket pro grille how is the fit and finish? Is it worth getting an oem or are the aftermarket offerings good enough?

Some aftermarket TRD Pro grills are good, others are bad. The OEM TRD Pro grill has a glossy finish, unlike my aftermarket grill. My aftermarket grill doesn't really fit either because there is a visible gap between the grill and the housing.

    Talgage letters,
If you replace the sport grille on the TRD Sport then do you lose the radar for cruse control? The Toyota emblem is the censer correct? Don't get me wrong the Pro Grille looks awesome, even with the extra lights on it.

Got mine over 4 years ago and there was no aftermarket option. Still looks brand new.

Nope. I have all aftermarket grille bits, lifted, and a front camera at the top, square in the middle of the sensor and it all works like the day it was new. I hear a lot of people saying these things can mess with the radar and while I'm not saying I don't believe this happened to them, if it was a common thing it should have happened to me.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
If you have the older OR grille, I get it why one would either spray it or change it. That was an ugly design choice from Toyota. The newer ORs are a much better design.

Keep in mind that the dealer may refuse to apply updates dealing with adaptive cruise (ex: T-SB-0026-20) because you have a grille that did not come with your model. Not saying it's right and it all depends on the dealer servicing your truck but just as you have the right to mod it, they have the right to not service the modded parts.

There is a behavior known as Mirroring. It is usually am interactive social behavior, but the rapport aspect of it can generally apply to a forum. A new member to a group wants to fit in, be recognized, or gain status by mirroring someone else that seems to have a greater status (or better grille I guess).

Just my theory....I see too many first posts from members that list the same "starter pack" of mods. It's too predictable.

The ‘20-‘21 Sport and OR grilles are the best looking grilles IMO. I prefer the Toyota logo over “Toyota” in letters.

I’m expecting a big turn in the further back to chrome and bright colors. Once everyone and their mom has all black everything people will want to be different again and that will mean chrome
