    Truck_1.jpg Hello All,
I've lurked for a little while and finally figured I should join. Lots of great info in this group. Hopefully this isn't blasphemy in this group, but my truck is a V8 swap. I've seen a lot of love for these old SR5s in here so I thought I would jump in with mine. I have an old 'Yota that I bought in Highschool 25+ years ago. It was very well maintained and nearly stock. After years of putting that little 22R to the test, I decided I needed a project. I kept hearing that a V8 would fit, and I had a 305 sitting around, so a buddy and I went for it.
After blown rear ends, 2 blown Toyota transmissions and broken...everything else, I eventually had a pretty good setup with the 305 and the SM465 transmission. It was a daily driver for a long time. Eventually, real life took over and she got parked for a couple of years and then the engine got blown by someone else (long story). Fast forward to now, years later and I am looking for another project. What better than to revive the old girl. I actually have a built 350 in there now with a TH350 Trans, but it is all wrong. The engine was built as a favor to my father, but is screwed up. The few times I've had it running, it sounds great, but ends up with water in the oil and on the pistons. Time to start over with my own build, so that's where I am at.

Happy to be here and always happy to chat about projects. I will be picking the brains of all of the gearheads in here for some upcoming mods...orbital steering and aux fuel tanks off the top of my head. I will upload some pictures as soon as I get a chance.

I love the look. Yellow is a dope color. This will be a great project.

Thanks! It was originally a brick red color. The V8 swap needed a little more attitude to go with it.

Probably would have fit with a lot less trouble too! Didn't have one of those laying around, lol. I'm in too deep now!
