I’ve read all this and don’t believe there is a 100% fix unless someone builds a better transmission for these ill fated years. Going to be spending lots of money and hours working on.

I would never buy another PDM sleeve kit. I barely got 15k miles before the chirping started again. Where as the stock Toyota throwout bearing will last 50k miles

The link you posted goes no where? Do you have the steps to do this? Thank you

    Just adding another data point:
I have a 2005 TRD sport 6-speed. I'm the original owner and it made it to 130,000 miles before the throwout bearing started squeaking. The clutch has never been opened up before. Thanks to the posts here and youtube videos I fixed it myself. I used the Aisin CKT-057 Clutch kit, URD sleeve kit, and replaced the fork support/release cylinder following TSB 0365-10. I bought this transmission jack from Amazon, an electric ratchet, and a bunch of socket extension bars prior to trying.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KCXXHRI

It seems the squeaking is blamed on the throwout bearing riding on the clutch cover disk in some cases? In my case the throwout bearing was bad. I can make it squeak just turning it by hand and it feels rough when spinning it. Also the shaft it sits on looked perfect. There were no gouges; I was debating just using the normal replacement bearing and returning the URD sleeve kit but went with the URD sleeve kit because it looks easy enough to remove if I ever need to. The clutch plate didn't look overly worn like the ones on youtube, there was still plenty of material left past the rivets. I also didn't touch the flywheel because I'm a bad person, didn't have replacement bolts, and knew I was already over my head in this fix. I've been driving it a couple weeks and no problems yet. Thanks for the help everyone; couldn't have done it without this forum.

Thought I would share my experience with the Throw Out Bearing squeal on this forum.

    I have a 2007 4.0 6 Speed Tacoma.

I got a shop to replace my OEM clutch with a LUK clutch, after a couple days of driving I noticed a metallic chirp sound any time I engaged or disengaged the clutch. Shortly after I noticed a squealing sound coming from around the bell housing area.

When I went back to the shop who replaced the clutch, they said it could just be a faulty throw out bearing that was put in, so they once again put in a brand new thowout bearing. This only got rid of the noise temporarily, the squeal and chirp came back. I decided to look online and found many threads about this seemingly common issue with these 6 Speed transmissions.

While I spent months reading online, trying to find a solution to this problem, the noise continued to get worse and worse. The options I found to try and solve the issue were either:

    - Clutch Masters Hydraulic Release Bearing
    - URD Throw Out Bearing Sleeve Kit
    - Toyota TSB "Fix"

After reading about people's experiences with the CM Hydraulic Release Bearing (Loss of fluid, inconsistent pedal feel)

I decided against that option because of the mentioned unreliability of the product.

I finally decided to go with a combination of the URD Throw Out Bearing Sleeve Kit and the Toyota TSB.

I had a shop install the URD Kit, while also replacing the original Slave Cylinder and Fork Support that came with my truck with the updated TSB parts.

So far (drive from the shop to my house), there has been no squeal or chirp. I will periodically post updates on whether or not my truck remains squeal and chirp free.

    Data Point:

    I have a 2014 V6 6MT, original owner.
Heard the loud squealing or something at 100k km, thought it was my pulleys so ignored it since then. At 140k km I diagnosed the issue after realizing the squealing stopped while depressing the clutch. Had the stealership install a AISIN CKT-057 clutch kit that came with release bearing. Immediately the squealing was stopped and is now replaced with the faintest whirring noise of the bearing spinning.

soooo I’m going to try adjusting my clutch pedal under the dash and see if I can stop it from contacting whatever it is in there.

Some forum users are adamant that the bearing should not contact while in neutral and I’m going to see if I can make that happen in a few weeks when I see my truck again. Will update when I try. Also now chasing a high pitch humm in my driver side wheel bearing, vibe in my 2inch lifted needle bearing, stick shifter vibration, etc...

You can't make it stop contacting the pressure plate it has a spring inside the slave cylinder on the transmission keeping it shoved against the pressure plate. If you want to convince yourself remove the three bolt cover over the slave cylinder. Remove the two bolts on the slave cylinder and watch it try to shove itself away from the release fork because of the spring. You won't get much movement because of the hard line between the accumulator and slave but you'll see it. I'm just trying to keep you from changing an adjustment in the cab that won't work and then trying to adjust it back where it is now.

I see, well thank you. I’ll probably not do that then but what should I tell the Toyota service centre here in Calgary? I had them do a diagnostic after I described it and then they replaced my clutch assembly with a AISIN-CKT057 kit. Do you think they botched it?

I doubt they botched it. This is a common issue, its how to achieve a permanent solution that's challenging. If the bearing whirring noise you hear is silenced with just a slight pressure on the clutch pedal it's the same issue you had before just not as noisy yet. Is this the case?

yea it’s characterized the same as before just now it’s a faint whirr instead of the loud squeal

edit: and yea it goes away when I press just a little clutch

Probably the cheapest and easiest thing to try first would be replacing the slave cylinder or putting the current rebuild kit in your slave cylinder. What this will include is a longer and stiffer spring (inside slave cylinder) and a longer pushrod between the slave cylinder and release fork. Both of these items will help add pressure against the pressure plate just like when you lightly press the clutch pedal.

How has this fix held up for you since you had it installed?

(I just bought the URD bearing/sleeve kit, haven't installed it yet.)

I'm planning to do the same job -- new clutch, flywheel, and URD sleeve kit (my 2014 TRD-OR 6-speed doesn't need the TSB fork support etc.).

How has your repair held up so far?

Still haven't had any noise return. Coming up on a year with the Sleeve kit and TSB update combo

Give it some time. It will chirp. This so-called URD throwout bearing is actually a PDM product ;)

I noticed that myself earlier today. The part # is exactly the same as the PDM part, and it looks the same in photos...
