I recently upgraded the tweeters to the Subaru drop in kicker tweeters with underwhelming results on a stock entune radio. The overall volume was reduced and so I wasn’t very impressed. I typically set the mids and treble all the way up with bass 3/4. I also listen to my music relatively quiet compared to most people and my volume is typically at level 6-8 on the stock head unit. I ordered kicker ds speakers from Crutchfield for the front and rear doors since they have attached tweeters and were a good price. I was pleasantly surprised at their thorough customer service and several follow up emails with vehicle specific installation instructions. They arrived in two days flat. They also came with metro harnesses and speaker adapters and hardware for FREE!!!!! The install wasn’t too difficult, the clips that hold the door on were so tight that releasing them was a feat of strength as it sounded like I was breaking the whole door getting the panels off. They went back on much easier. I am very pleased with the new speakers. The magnets on the stock paper speakers look comically small compared to the kickers and there was a significant weight and quality difference between the two. The sound from the kicker speakers with no amp and stock head unit is fantastic. It is much more clear and crisp and the overall volume did not suffer. Overall sound and clarity is much improved. Even my wife said it sounds better. She recently said my old Ridgeline and new Tacoma ride the same-“Trucky”
I am very happy with this easy inexpensive upgrade and glad I found Crutchfield , they are an awesome company.

    Agreed on crutch.
I got my head unit from them, fit kit, rear speakers, and i swear the wire harness adapter for the head unit was free, the speaker adapters were free, and no tax.
Also I was able to get free support when i needed to isolate the oem speaker wiring diagram (i just bypassed my oem tweets and took the signal to the new front 5 ways i got at best buy).

Couple years ago i ordered a few large klipsch speakers for the house and a new receiver. The front main speakers were on sale for $500 off each, the receiver was $400 off, the rears were about $100 off and i got free shipping, no tax, and the front speakers were freight delivered.

As i was trying to put the main speakers in my cart, someone was blocking me by "looking" at one of them (only two were in stock). I spoke to a rep and they transferred that one remaining speaker into my cart

Found out my rear speakers price dropped $50 more about 2 weeks later. I used the chat window and i got a $50 refund.

The points i used later for a noco battery jump pack... Cash i pad for that was $5 i think.

    Crutch came in clutch

I've been buying from Crutchfield since practically before the internet, when you phone ordered out of the mailed catalog. Over the decades I have run into a few hiccups, and their customer service has been nothing short of exceptional, every time. And when you call and talk to an actual person they really know the subject matter they are talking about, not some customer service script. When a speaker size that you would expect to fit is listed as "not fitting" they can tell you if that speaker is too deep for your specific vehicle make/model/year and exactly by how much, or that mount is too wide, but you could fit it with modification. I buy all my audio gear exclusively from Crutchfield. Honestly they are not the cheapest, but the value they provide in their expertise and customer service and simplifying the DIY is invaluable and something I would hate to lose to the dumbed down bulk sellers like Amazon.

My exact experience. The only time I don't buy from Crutchfield is when they do not have something I'm determined to get. Like you said, there are places to find items cheaper, but overall Crutchfield has the absolute best value.
