    Hey everyone,

Got another question which might be an easy one or it might be a hard one. I’m pretty close on sealing the deal on picking up a new 19 TRD OR. I am gonna be getting the short bed double cab. My question is since I’ve heard the back seats are pretty tight quarters will a child seat fit in the back seat with enough room for me in the front. My daughter is 10 months old and I’m getting her a new seat. She will most likely be sitting in it on the passenger side. The dimensions on the seat are below. I’m just curious if anyone knows or has experience in this themselves if this seat will fit. Thanks for the replies!

    Seat dimensions:

I have the big gigantic Graco 4ever seat and it fits pretty well in the middle of the back seat.

We use a rear facing in the center of the back seat and it fits fine. It’s safer for the kids to be in the middle and it leaves far more room for the front passenger seat

I checked the uppababy - as others said, it fits fine in the center, behind the passenger seat it is only OK if you are under 5'6.

If you intend to put the seat behind you and it's rear facing, you are going to be cramped. I'm 5'6" and I struggled to have the seat behind me. If you have it rear facing on the passenger side, no problem at all. Plus having it passenger side means you pull the child from the curbside and not from the street side.

    I have the graco extend2fit 3 in 1
It fit fine rear facing, even better now he's front facing.
My wife is 5'4" and she has plenty of room to stretch out either way. I'm 5'9" and I could fit in the passenger seat in front of him.

I would say test drive it with the infant carrier you have now though that will be the worst case scenario. We kept our son in the infant carrier till his first birthday when we got the new seat.

A plus with the Baby and a TACO is they love looking out the back window. My son gibber jabbered all the time once we got the TACO!

In case you're wondering the Colorado sits a little better with the car seat, I think the dash is a little higher in the front so there seemed to be more leg room. But ultimately other reasons resale, reliability, features made the tacoma a better fit for us.

Not trying to hijack the thread but definitely bring that car seat with you on test drive. I’m 5’8 and my 2 year old kicks the hell out of my seat now that he’s forward facing. The center won’t work either. There’s a big unmovable cup holder in the way attached to the console. Maybe look at a Tundra, nearly same price

Also, those measurements on your car seat don’t take into account the angle you may have to adjust the tilt which may make it even longer

I have the 4Ever Extend2Fit behind the passenger seat rear facing without issue. My wife is 5-6 and has zero issue riding in my truck from a comfort standpoint.
