Does anyone have this car seat (Graco Extend2fit Convertible)? How well does it fit in the cab, in the middle and on sides?

I'm not sure if this will help or not, probably not?

That car seat looks a lot like the one that we used to drive a friend's family to the airport in my AccessCab. Forward facing only, in my situation. We initially had it rocked back too far and the front seat had to be most of the way forward. With it in the fully upright setting, both their daughter and the person in the passenger seat was very comfortable. So, forward facing should be great in the DC.

When our Daughters were rear facing, we struggled in all three cars that we had during that time. Even our long gone volvo V70 was tight while they were rear facing. Life turned pretty awesome once they were big enough to be forward facing, then even better with boosters.

The extend2fit can rear face until 50 lbs (or 49” if that comes before), which is the reason for the choice.

Yep. That is why I was not sure that my post would be helpful.

I'd probably fit great in the back of an F-150 crew. It's like a living room back there.

BTW, we went forward facing well before that weight. Once their legs are long enough to hit the seat back, just about any trip turns out more frustrating / less safe (IMHO).

I have it. It fits fine in the middle but you can't run the seats all the way back. Wife and I are under 6' so it's not a problem. Haven't tried it in a side location but it will probably require the front seat to be run almost all the way forward.

Not that exact model, but I have a Graco something or other, that is rear facing with the quick connect system thingy. It fits behind the passenger seat, but it's pretty much pushed all the way forward to where no one can sit there.

Thanks! I guess it’ll have to go in the middle, which is the safest place anyway, but a little bit of a pain to get kid in and out. Did you use the two bottom clicking system or did you do seat belt and tether?

    Also, welcome to TW!

I have been using a rear facing urbini infant seat, without a base, behind the passenger seat. It’s a pretty small seat, but still causes passenger seat to be pushed pretty far forward. Makes it uncomfortable for longer rides.

Subb'd as I'm interested for the future. We have a 3 month old using a Graco Connect 30 rear-facing infant seat. I love the easy click of the seat on the base and running that one in the middle (using middle seat belt to secure) leaves the front seats to easily slide back as far as we need.

The rear facing seat room in these trucks sucks... I went to a toys r us/ babies r us and they let me take seats out to the parking lot and try them. I just had to give them my drivers license and they let me go back and forth as much as I wanted. That way i could let the wife sit in a comfortable location and found a seat that would work.

Thanks buddy. The middle location has to use the lap belt, because the latch hooks are located such that the distances between the hooks are only correct if the seat is in the left or right positions.

Fits fine in the middle. I doubt I’ll be able to use the 5” leg extender feature though. As for the side, no chance if the front seat is to be used.

That baby seat looks comfortable AF. Should install a seat massager for that extra touch haha.

Gulzeb: Are both of your front seats able to go all the way back (or close to it) with the seat installed in the middle?

I am trying to decide between getting this or the Britax Marathon for my truck.

Yes, all the way back, but this is without that extend feature being used. I honestly don’t know if I will use that feature or will just face him forward instead when that time comes.

The seat is pretty wide, so adult seating next to it is not comfortable. If I had to do it again, I would go with a smaller footprint seat like the Dionos, even though they cost much more. The extend2fit cost me only around $130 from graco website after applying a couple of 20% off deals.

Don’t have the Graco. We have the Chicco next fit which I believe is a little larger and there’s no chance it will fit on the sides. Unless you’re not using the front seat.

This is what it looks like with the seats all the way back. Please excuse the mess.

Just a slightly off topic word of caution. I had the Graco for a week. My 2 year old was able to unclip the chest buckle with ease. Same for all Gracos. Toys r us swapped it no problem, but now there’s no toys r us so...

This is not completely true. Wife and I are both tall (I’m 6’3” and she’s 5’10”) and we have the nextfit on the sides. One forward facing on the passenger side and one rear facing behind the driver. Could I use more room, sure. Is it uncomfortable, not really.
