    Hey guys,

I have a 2020 Tacoma and don’t know how to update the Gracenote Software to the current version. Can anyone help me with a link and instructions? Thank you in advance.

This thread may be of some help. 3rd Gen Multimedia Updates | Tacoma World

I'm not sure if gracenote software is part of the HU overall software package, I just assume it would be. If you are aware that your gracenote software is not up to date, what info do you have about the current version and the latest version?

This HU has a Software Update option and a Gracenote Database Update option. I believe they’re separate. The current Gracenote Version on my Tacoma is 01919. I haven’t tried to update it since I purchased it. Here are the details. When I Google Gracenote Update it takes me to the 2017 Yaris/iA Gracenote page.

Ahh, I see. That link I posted may only be for the entune HU, not really sure TBH. What is the latest version number that you are trying to find? What happens if you select "Check for Update"

I’m not entirely sure. I wanted to see if there was an update available but can’t seem to find one for a Tacoma online.

On the Software Update portion it allows me to see if there’s an update. On the Gracenote it doesn’t tell me if it needs to be updated or not.

Ohh, from your original post I thought you had determined that your software was not the latest. I think gracenote is just the text-to-voice software, it may not get updates often and even if it does, might be hard to find. Why are you trying to update anyway? Having an issue with something on it?

The dealer would probably be the place to get that info, but you may have to push for it. You never said what happens if you select, "Check for Update".

Sometimes when I start the truck it says there’s a software update available and asks if I’d like to update and does it on the spot but I’ve never gotten an update request for Gracenote so I was wondering if it’s still current or if it needs an update. There’s nothing really wrong but I do notice that my Bluetooth volume cuts out to a lower volume and after a few minutes cuts back on to the actual volume. I wondered if the Gracenote had something to do with that. It doesn’t do that on any other function but Bluetooth.

I would check with the dealer in case something is wrong with the head unit.

It’s really odd, it’s hard to explain without hearing it but the volume just lowers from where I had it and then raises after a few minutes. It’s kind of annoying.

Grace note I’d just just a collection of artist pictures and albums, it has nothing to do with function. Take it to the dealer to fix.
