So I'm battling a tough decision with general grabber at2's. I have a 4 cylinder pretty stock 05 with only a 2inch lift. So I'd like to bump up my tire size from the 245 75 16's to a 265 75 16. Now the 265 75 only comes in a Lt 10 ply while they do have a 265 70 that's just a regular passenger tire at a 4 ply. Now I don't do much off roading. But too I'm not sure what I will run into exactly up in the New England area. Should I pay the extra $$ for the lt and size I want, or sacrifice a little size for a more appropriate daily tire

the grabber has held my attention the longest cause I feel like for the price it has the function capabilities of like a Cooper discoverer and has that more aggressive look.

I would recommend the Goodyear wrangler authorities. They come in load range c 265/75/16 which is a 6 ply and will save you a little weight. I've only had them a few times but have nothing but good things to say so far.

I just bought the at2's in 265 - 70 X 16, they are standard load range. I opted out of the 265 - 75's because they only came in the 10 ply and I really did not want the extra weight because I drive so many highway miles.

The set I bought is heavy, especially for a standard load range tire. They were difficult to balance, two of the tires required 6 ounces of weight to achieve balance, although I am not sure the guy who mounted and balanced the tires had much experience... He did a half-assed job, he separated the weights on two of the tires (BIG No No) and did not try rotating the tire on the rim to eliminate the need for so much weight.

I would advise against the 10 ply's... I would imagine they would be even heavier and tougher to balance (not what I would want on a micro pickup). If you can deal with 1/2" difference in radius, just go with the 265 - 70's.

I had a set on my tundra and one on my 02 access can 4banger. They wore ok, but within 5k on both they vibrated so bad you could see the bed hopping at 55 mph. Got a set of BFG all terrains on my 13 TRD sport (which is what the at2 copied) and havent had any issues. The at2s I ran were the p metric series, and the bfgs are 6 ply rated.

Thanks for your input guys. After a week of searching and like the last few days focused solely on the general and cooper's basically, I ended up getting the grabber at2 265 70 16 today. Sort of impulsively... Oops.

I'll bet you will like them. Just as aggressive as the BFGoodrichs and hundreds cheaper. Don't look back.

Very much cheaper. Decided to get them at Town Faire so I would get some warranty and benefits from it as well as an alignment with them. But too they have a lowest price guarantee, so I got them cheaper than at Walmart, about $128 per tire instead of like $180 I think it was.

I went from Duratrac LT265-75 r16 to Grabber At2 p265-70 R16 and I thought I might loose some off road ability for on road prose. I got the on road stuff. It's night and day. Smooth, quiet with lots of grip. And off road I lost nothing. Much better in sand and just as good in rocky dirt and sand stone. Good in the rain, but I haven been on snow or mud yet. The Duratracs were good in snow.

I also gained two MPG. Well I think the 265-75-16 made the odometer and speedometer correct, so my math is 3% off. Stock size is set to cheat on MPG a bit.

I got them on Wallmart.com for $135 each and $50 installed. I would have went with the 75's but I had rub with the Duatracs and wanted a better ride than than a LT tire.

Also the side wall says two ply side wall four ply tread, so it's a six ply P rated tire, not a four ply.

FWIW I've been running 265/65/17 Grabber AT2s for 20k miles, and I'm very happy with them.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
You sound like a weekender at best, get the lightest load range you can manage or you'll hate the rough ride. As far as tires: if you're getting a reputable brand like General, BFG, Toyo, Goodyear, etc. it's all about price and which tread pattern makes your dick harder.
