So I’m getting new tires putting on my truck tomorrow. It’s the Falken wild peaks in the 285/70/17s load e. I went with load e cause the load c ones are 62.5lbs and these are lighter at 57lbs. I just weighed them. Just wondering who has this size and how do you like them? I have the 285 ko2 now and these seem more bigger even though there the same size. I guess ko2 is 32.8 and these are a true 33.

    Who has this size. Thanks

They are def good on the highway especially in the rain. As far as snow goes, they are better for slippery highways with ice and snow whereas the ko2s are better for deep snow and not quite as good on slippery highways. They are both good tires. If most of your driving is highways I’d go with the falkens. I do a lot of wheeling and found the ko2s are significantly better on the rocks and mud. Another thing to note, falkens balance a lot better for some reason and are a little quieter, although neither are loud

I was looking at that but I don’t want the standard load. They are not too aggressive in the standard load

I didn’t want to go with the load e but it’s deff weigh less then the load c. I do a lot of highway driving also. I still wanted a aggressive tire but nothing too much because all my friends live all over the state Lol. Thanks for the info. I should really like these tires. What I didn’t like about the BFG is that they were not the greatest in wet weather.

My buddy runs KO2 Es on his '06 Taco and I run Wildpeak AT3W Es on my Canyon. We do a lot of wheeling together and both tires get us where we are going with no drama. They both work remarkably well off-road for an AT tire. The Wildpeak definately has better wet pavement traction though. We snow wheel a lot too and I've been very happy with their performance.

They worked great in Moab too but traction usually isn't too much of an issue there.

That’s so awesome. Thank you so much for the information and feedback. I really can’t wait to get these tires on tomorrow to see how they perform. I like how they have a better wet traction. Don’t like the Bfg for that haha. Thanks for the pic. Looks sweet

    Thanks. :)

They should work well for your area. On a light truck like yours you will likely have to run low tire pressure so I suggest starting at placard level and do the chalk test. My placard level is 35psi but I run 30R/33F psi for comfort and 34R/37F for a balance betwwen fuel economy and comfort. I run 15-17psi off-road. My truck weight 5,250lbs on average. Even at 30psi the chalk test showed even wear. *shrug* Definately do your own tests and see what works for you.

I will definitely have to do the chalk test. Thank you so much for the reminder. Usually I run my tires at 35 PSI. I don’t want to run them under that because I haul a lot of heavy loads in the back of the bed for my restaurant so 35 seems to be the sweet spot but I will definitely check and make sure.

What do you mean? Are there different designs for the SL compared to the E and C? I've never seen these tires in person nor have I compared them side by side.

There’s a difference between the tires. The standard low tire is not as aggressive and meaty looking as the light truck tire. The standard load Is 13 tread depth. The lt version in load c and e is 19 tread depth. A lot more aggressive looking

aidenhardcore, can't wait to see the difference with the Wildpeak A/T3W mounted up. Jcwages, those are some amazing snow wheeling photos. Thank you for chiming in on the comparison.

I've got the 265s, but will definitely keep this tire when I bump up to 285. Moved from NE to KS in snow back to back weekends, no issues at various speeds/conditions on the highway with/without a trailer.
