brah my brother got pulled over in his stock dodge ram with newer dodge ram stocks right infront KMart. Told em he needed mud flaps and that it was illegal to put on bigger tires. fucking bullshit.

I got pulled over in my f350 a lot...finally one day I made these.

Here in Hawaii there is no law saying they have to go so far down. I know theres other states that say they must go half way down the tire or to the height of your wheel hub, but here in Hawaii if your truck came stock with mud flaps, you NEED them to pass the Hawaii state safety inspection(PMVI). Cops, they just think everyone needs them whos got wide tires.
Some places that you can get safety checks from will say you need mud flaps just to cover their ass.....usually they'll tell you that if youre lifted and have slightly bigger tires.

Howcome all these Hondas with those tires that stick out cambered dont get mud flap tickets!?

Yep, waste our time...waste your time and waste other tax payers money. Yeah, we pay them to go to court...but keep fighting it and keep wasting everyones resources. I encourage it.

    +1

NEVER say "I'll see you in court"... that makes the stop memorable and he'll make damned sure he shows up.

Just keep everything 100% to yourself. Make the stop as unmemorable to him as possible.
When he gets the notice you're going to court, if he doesn't recall the stop, he is less likely to appear. Case dismissed (and $35 in California).

But the ticket is only $50? That's not worth my time to leave work to fight it... I'd just pay it (this time).

I had my truck pass safety with the tires the way they are. The truck does have factory mud flaps and the factory fender flares.... Com paired to most of the lifted trucks here on Kauai its nothing....

I will post the ticket later tonight when i get home.....

Arguing with the Police is like arguing with a Judge or a cook, never ends well. When I see that I am getting pulled I find a safe place to pull over, get out and stay by my vehicle with my driver's license and registration in hand. And it is "Yes Sir, No Sir". These guys have a very hard job to do and most are upstanding individuals, every profession has a rotten apple or two, that is life.

They never know if you plan to cooperate or shoot them. just sayin....

this is a good point. but i have done it quite a few times. and never been stocked. few times it’s unmarked car and people just slam on the breaks and cause a hold up. and few times it has been a marked car and right around shift change(i know shit change times around here) and the cop will be doing about the speed limit. and everyone wants to do 10 under. i work my way thru the pack of cars and have passed and not been stopped. funny once i do it everyone does it.
