I have no idea what could cause this. I even went into developer tools and told it to always use day. My maps are dark all the time now and I can't change it.

I've changed the settings, rebooted the phone, checked for updates, enabled options in developer tools, I just can't get it to leave this dark mode.

    Any ideas?

Not a truck issue. Will be in your phone settings somewhere. Must have missed a configuration step. Can try clearing cache for the maps app and see if it defaults back to the correct mode. Once it displays correctly on your phone it should be fixed on the infotainment screen as well.

You've got to provide context to get proper assistance. Are you using Android? If so a recent bug caused this same issue in Google Maps version 11.33.1

Mine recently started doing this - couldn't fix it until I switched my phone to light mode. AA seemed to be respecting the phone's dark theme.

Sorry, here are the missing details:

    Tacoma 3rd gen
    Android 9
Maps displays correctly on the phone
Maps is dark on the head unit
Google maps received an update four days ago, which pretty much matches for when I noticed this come to think of it...

    Oh look, another mod....

It sounds like your phone is stuck in "High Contrast" mode.

Stock, but not stock (but stock)
Try the settings in the Android Auto app on your phone. There is a "Day/Night mode for maps setting".

    I figured it out.

    I'm kinda mad about it.

My phone is set to dark mode. Google maps on my phone is not, and does not have the option to be viewed in dark mode and does not default to the phone's setting.

My phone is set to dark mode. Android auto sets the map to dark mode and only dark mode.

I turned off dark mode on my phone and the map is displaying day mode correctly...

This is so painfully stupid. I got a fancy new USB3 cable and I still get skips and disconnects, now this?
