I had a used set of these mounted on my wheels yesterday. I didn't think these were directional tires or needed to be mounted in any particular way so I didn't check this before I left the shop. They managed to get three of the four tires mounted and balanced with the "mount this side inward" message on the inside. One of the tires is mounted with this message on the outside?

Does it really matter? I am curious if anyone knows. The tread pattern seems the same no matter how it would be mounted. I can go back and have it corrected if I need to.

They are not directional but are asymmetrical. All that means is improved grip & less noise when mounted correctly.
Probably won't make that much difference but I would make them fix it.

To add- directional tires have an arrow on sidewall, asymmetrical tires are marked like yours.

May be asymmetrical tires? Does one side have white lettering?

    What are Asymmetrical Tires?
Asymmetrical tires are designed to enhance traction, handling, and cornering capabilities while reducing noise. These tires are often found on sport performance vehicles. The tires can rotate in either direction when mounted with the correct side facing out, as indicated on the tire sidewall.

    Proper Mounting of Asymmetrical Tires
These tires feature certain road-holding characteristics and wet traction technology in very specific areas of the tire, such as in the outer tread block. When mounted incorrectly on the inside of the tire, this tread—designed to be on the outside of the tire—proves less effective at performing its intended function. Simply have your tire(s) dismounted and reinstalled correctly. For assistance, find a store near you.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    I'd make them fix it.
Goes to show the experience level of the person mounting your tires. Perhaps he/she can learn something by you requesting that it be fixed.
