So, I have the original Goodyear Wrangler A/T 265/70/R16 tires that came on my 2020 OR. Don't put many miles on them (12,500 so far) but do some off-roading on pretty rough roads here in Arizona.

I have about 500 or so miles on trails like those shown in the pics and about another 500 on less aggressive off-road surfaces for about 1,000 miles off-road total. I don't think these tires will give me much more than about another 10K miles (for a total of about 22k to 25k miles)before I replace them. Given the conditions I have driven them on, I don't think that they have done too badly. They seem to have about 7/32 of tread left but have a lot of chunks eaten out of them.

    Two questions.

    1. Do you think this wear is normal for the conditions the tires have been through?

    2. I am looking to replace them with Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT in 265/75/R16--Load Range C. Do you think I will get any better wear out of them?

And here are some of the conditions I have been rolling through.

    A silly millimeter higher
That's normal wear for those tires and conditions. I put ~20,000 miles on the stock OR tires in similar desert conditions, all aired down, and they had minor chunking.

Can't speak to the Coopers, replaced mine with the General ATx 265/75/R16 Load Range E and am very happy.

    1. Yes, I had the same “wear” on mine when doing similar trails.

    2. Ask your local tire and 4x4 shops to find out what holds up.
