Getting ready to buy a new set of tires and looking at 2 different brands. Goodyear A/T Adventure w/Kevlar and Cooper Discoverer AT3. I've owned the Coopers in the past and have been generally happy with them. The last set I had seemed to run a little rough until the rubber warmed up. Almost like the developed a flat spot after sitting overnight. I've never owned the GY Adventure w/Kevlar but have had a set of Duratracs that I was also happy with.
I drive 100% on pavement and encounter snow conditions maybe 4-5 times a year. My job requires me to get to work so I do need a tire that performs reasonably well in snow.
Just looking for some feedback on any potential issue or benefit I may have missed when researching these 2 tires.

I'd take the Coops over those Goodyears any day. I know quite a few folks with the AT3's and they like them

Coopers. I've never owned them but I know a lot of people that have and they seemed like a great tire overall

I see a lot of Cooper At3s in the ski area parking lot here. One of our ski patrollers has them on her lifted Taco w ARB bumper and she's very happy with them. They're really similar to the Dean Wintercat, a great snow tire - Cooper makes Dean tires.

I have no experience with "Goodyear A/T Adventure w/Kevlar" but, FWIW, I'm happy with my Cooper Discoverer AT/3s.

    I run Copper ST Maxx.

But our work fleet of trucks delivering hot tubs all years (summer, winter) run Cooper AT3s and do well I'm told.

Generally hear better feedback on TW on the Cooper tires.

Duratracs get good reviews for snow but not great for sidewall puncture resistance.

    Getting there...
I run AT3s in 265/70/17. Got them in Colorado and live in Florida now. Probably close to 15k miles on them. Lots of highway, some snow, ice, sand, mud, water mixed in there. Previous tires were some AT Dunlops (snowflake rated). Overall pretty great tire. On the road, they're pretty quite, and have wore great. A little sensitive to temps/pressure, but never any issues with hydroplaning or losing grip in the rain. I was lazy and have only rotated them twice without any weird wear patterns.

Off road, definitely not the best choice in snow, but not as bad as I was worried about and the only time I got stuck in the snow with them was when I was trying to. 4wd got me out. Wouldn't recommend if you're going to be seeing a lot of ice though. Then again, it's not a snow tire or even snowflake rated lol. As far as sand/mud, I haven't gotten stuck bad enough where 4wd didn't get me out. Never aired down either. Only time when I wished I had mts was when I'm exploring by myself after some serious rain. Was trying to yank my buddy's Ram out of some sand one night and would dig myself down, and manage to crawl out in 4 low and locked diff. Pretty sure he had those Goodyears you're looking at. Granted his truck is a fatty compared to mine and isn't quite set up for off roading. Take it fwiw.

Tldr, tires are great if you don't live somewhere that sees snow/ice 300 days a year lol

What about Cooper A/TW's? I'm looking to replace the tires on my 2003, and I've narrowed it down to BF Goodrich A/T KO2s and Cooper A/TWs. Any thoughts on that choice? Other tires I should be considering? Thanks for any input. (Truck doesn't get many miles/year, mostly roads and highways, but I want it to perform the few times per year it's in the snow.)

I would only use goodyears if I was in a mad max apocalypse type situation and that's all that was left.

Just keep throwin' money at it.
Running a set of the AT3's right now. I know a few other guys in my cruiser club who have them on their Tacos and Land Cruisers as well. I got a good deal on a used set to try them out. They work well in the rain, are quiet on the freeway, and have good AT traction in compact snow and ice. Overall I am happy with them. I lost one to a hole (hit an object on the freeway) and am replacing them with AT3's again. I was going between them and the KO2. For the money the AT3s are a great tire.

Edit, here is my 2011 with 2016 front coils on 275/70r17 at3's:

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I like the ATPs over the AT3s.

I just put some at3's on my 4Runner. Love them so far. Very responsive. I'm looking forward to taking them through some snow this weekend to see how they do
