I got one last week after getting them in July. Noticed some wheel shake at around 60 but hadn't noticed it after I had them installed. Had it done at the dealer since I was there for my last freebie and had a coupon for some money off.

@manderle some Discount Tire locations do alignments now. The wear pattern of the existing tires will let the tire technician know whether to recommend an alignment or not. If the tire wear is even with no cupping, you should be solid to go without.

I stumbled into this thread as I was looking for a replacement tire for my Duratracs. I have been running 17” FJ steelies on my 2003 TRD for the past couple of years, but now my Tacoma is going to be my daily driver at least until next June (when my RS3 arrives), so I want to move to a quieter and lighter tire. I just ordered a set of 16” FN 5-Star wheels in Matte Bronze and am thinking of going with these GY UT tires in the SL rating. What size would you recommend?
These are the wheels I just ordered:

And here is a shot with my Duratrac ‘skinnies’ to give you an idea on what kind of suspension lift I am running. IMG_6056.jpg

    @BossFan the 265/75R16 116S SL Goodtear Ultraterrain A/T comes in a 4 ply and would be a solid option.:thumbsup:

DT - are there any promotions running now (or in near future?). Also, does DT ship tires to my local garage? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Discount Tire store up here in north NJ.

@BossFan we are not in NJ as of yet, but you can still utilize our mail order, Discount Tire Direct or even Tire Rack. They will ship to your door, or a certified installer in your area. Don't hesitate to shoot us a DM for assistance.

@Faroutspacenut nice truck--looks great! Looking at the same tires and size with a bit more offset in the wheels (-10). Were you able to figure out where the rubbing was and fix it? I expect my increased offset will make them rub a bit more than yours--would love to know how it worked out before pulling the trigger on that size. If you're in CMC territory, I might just stick with 265/65/17.

    $110 off.
    Just hit DT Website.

I literally purchased those tires yesterday, w/o the BF discount. Tagging @Discount Tire to see if adjustment can be made.

    Pics of tires purchased yesterday.
    15/32nds-ish tread depth!

Stock 22 OR 4x4, Huskyliner mud flaps. No rubbing, even tried a reverse turn...nothing.
Drove home from @Discount Tire in Bellingham, WA, about 50 miles. Asphalt and concrete freeway, averaged about 75-80MPH.
Tires felt absolutely solid, not any louder than the OEM's.
    2-3mph off at 75MPH, less than 1mph at 60.

    Should be happy with these...

I'm highly considering these tires for my 21 TRD off road. I live in San Diego and plan to do a lot of desert off roading with an occasional trip to big bear both in the snow and spring and summer. Any long-term reviews on the SL-rated tires? I'm torn between them and E rated versions. Thanks!

I’ve had my SL rated ultraterrains for 25k miles and about 3.5 years now. They are still in great shape have at least 60-65% tread left. Very happy with them in all weather conditions! I use them mostly for daily driving, light off-road driving on rutted forest service roads and some towing of my firewood trailer ~3500 lbs and they’ve been and awesome tire.

Had mine for 2 years and 30K.

They are starting to cup and vibrate despite my alignment being spot on and suspension being good to go.

    Rotated every 5K.

    Kinda disappointed to be honest.
