hey wassup peeps. i was wondering what brands are notorious to put out great mids and highs. im looking to upgrade my sounds, but if i was gonna go down this route then i just wanna replace everything. not gonna go with a subwoofer, just components in the front and 6x9 or whatever size is back there. i remember focal, diamond, and rainbow were some of the few you could rely on if you wanted crisp clarity and ultra bright highs. couple that with an, alpine cd deck, alpine sound processor, and a good amp, and you could bleed ears lol. its been a long while since i messed around with my stock setup so things probably changed a whole lot. any info is appreciate. thanks in advance.

I think Focal is the new in-your-face brand for mids and highs. Coincidentally they have an OEM replacement kit.

I’ve heard JL, Alpine, Hertz and Audison, they all sound good.

Yeah the Focal K2’s are super bright. Anything with a titanium dome tweeter will also be very bright. If you are doing 6x9’s down in the door, mid’s won’t be a problem

Remember that Focal speakers are not cheap, so highly recommend you invest in sound deadening before investing in great speakers. But that goes for any "high end" speaker. You don't want road noise to drown out the premium sound the speakers are providing.

I agree with the sound deadening. I would sound deaden and then see how it sounds, then choose an aftermarket speaker.

I have the Focal K2 series, which were not cheap, waiting to go in. This Texas heat just needs to let up so I can get started.

    Stock so far. Audio first!
Focal. Their flax series are affordable and sound amazing. Absolutely dont forget the sound deadening. It makes a world of difference.

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
Hybrid 6x9 midbass and tweet for the win focals are ok but the hybrid unity 6x9 is a monster blows focal out the water

thanks fellas. some very sound advice, pun intended. gonna go pick up some sound deadening mats for sure and probably gonna go with focal. i had a set on my xrunner and it sounded amazing. with all the extra names thrown out there i do remember hearing about morel. i heard they was badass. then you got the more known brands like jl and alpine, which seems more mainstream to me if im being honest. nothing wrong with that, of course, but i think im looking for a more niche sound, i dunno. ill look into hybrid since someone mentioning it blows focal out of the water. thanks again guys. appreciate it.
