I work at a dairy as a maintenance tech. We have "foot foamers" that spray a sanitizing foam at entrances and door ways throughout the plant (they spray KX-6049). The sanitizer really eats up leather boots. Most of the production guys wear rubber boots, which would be perfect accept for the fact that I walk twice as much as them getting tools/rounds/whatever else and I'd feel like a dork.

I have Timberland PRO Endurance boots now, the most comfortable boots I've owned to date (also the most expensive) but I've had them for 7 months and the side had torn open where they attach to the sole.

Does anyone else out there work in a similar environment that knows of a boot that'll stand up to the sanitizer? I've been looking for the ducky boots but no one seems to make them.

Anyone know of a spray or rub that I could use on my boots that would make them last longer?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Best thing I've found to keep my feet warm, dry & for a rubber boot they have cushion like a normal work boot. Best $120 I've spent. I walk thru a lot of chemicals that dry out leather boots & make them crack.....the BOGS hold up to it. They come in steel toe also.

Sadly the only ones they have in steel toe are full rubbers.

    Do you need steel toes?

I have Muck boots for messy stuff.
    Comfortable, good support.

Pricey, but my feet, ankles, and knees are trashed.
I wear Goodwill clothes, but I won't skimp on workboots.

In Laws own a large dairy here in Cow land that also use foot baths. We have always worn Viking boots in the cow shit. They have a model that is chemical resistant as well.

I do need steel toe! And I agree there. Boots are important when you're on your feet all day. Trying to save my back for when I'm older.
I work in the processing side so there's no cow shit here! Hahaha I'll look into them!

    Thanks a lot guys!
