Have a 2023 I debadged and got the double sided foam tape off but left an outline of V6 and 4x4 on the tailgate. What is safer 70 percent rubbing alcohol or goo gone? Thanks. Black truck.

I fucking hate goo gone. Leaves an oily citrus mess and doesn’t work any better than alcohol imo. I just use a heat gun on low-med heat and most adhesive usually rubs off with elbow grease. Finish it off with typical isopropyl.

some people swear by the 3m adhesive remover wheels

So you troll the crap out of us, then don’t even make a “my truck arrived post”

    :angrygirl:

Goo Gone seems to be the thing that dealers use to remove guck. It can cause some fine scratches though.

This. Leaves no residue, does not impact paint and easy to use. I use a microfiber with this product.

I’ve used Goo Gone a few times and it made a sticky gooey mess. Try Goof Off or alcohol

^ This. Comes in a spray can as well. Be sure to apply a good wax coating afterward.

Seriously. Will not hurt paint, will remove residue.

Obviously you do all this work prior to your initial paint correction and wax job.

Verify with dealer badge removal will not void the warranty on your paint.

Dear Oh dad is a retired Auto Bodyman and Painter.
Get the 3M adhesive remover! The stuff just works! For Chrome, Stainless Steel and Glass use 0000 (the finest grade) steel wool! 3M also makes a rubberized pads that fit in drills for removing baked on decals. So baked on that they are faded and cracked. I helped dad remove some from an old truck a gentleman was going to use for his race cars. We thought we were going to have to sand and paint but this decal remover was awesome. Sorry to get off topic but we were just so impressed! My apologies.

40 or 60 grit. 100 grit takes too long.

Not sure why ya'll are having issues with GooGone. It works well. After removing the goo, use exterior exterior detailer. That's it.
