This will be the first off roading in the taco. I don't plan to go HAM at the park because we leave for Colorado and Moab on friday but the jeeper ladies I am going with are going to disconnect their sway bars. Should I do that? If so, how do I do that and is it worth doing for the park? I have a lift and 33" tires if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Nah, if you don't know how to do it already, you'll have trouble getting them back on. Don't get yourself in a pickle, just have fun.
Jeeps can also do it be pressing a button

I should wait for someone to show me how its done at home before doing something like that. If there trouble to get into I seem to find it easily.

On the Tacoma, you're going to take it off, not disconnect.

If you disconnect your sway bars without fully removing the bars you will destroy your axles boots and potentially even damage your axles themselves.

He does a great job explaining the difference. Freeway, passing 18 wheelers, oh god warn your passengers!

tl;dr: Dedicated trail rig, disconnect it. Daily Driver, occasional off-road, leave it connected.

Don't bother removing your sway bar, but just go have fun! Spotting a great art, but make sure your spotter goes through their hand signals first as on the trail your stress level goes up, and to this day I thought my, new to me spotter, told me to crank full left. He was trying to warn me NOT to do that. Oops.

    Excellent.
Once you start tackling difficult obstacles, and failing on some, the off road bug will bite, then you'll know what you want to do to your truck to make it go better on those obstacles, have fun, be safe.
