Goal Zero YETILINK VEHICLE INTEGRATION KIT

I am hoping to use the YETILINK VEHICLE INTEGRATION KIT but want to make sure it will work with a 2018 Tacoma.

From what I understand if it is a smart alternator it will not work until Goal Zero does an update.

Does anyone know if I can use the YETILINK VEHICLE INTEGRATION KIT with the 1500X in the 2018 Tacoma?

Report back to us how this works, I’ve been considering it as a back up to my solar panels when its cloudy

 

Ive heard of another guy who installed it with a 1000x to power his fridge and he claims it works a charm. But i bought the always on upgrade for the 400w inverter and want to see how that works before i bone up to the link system

 

Goal Zero said this is the fastest way to charge. They said it would take about 2 hours for the 1500x to charge while driving. The issue is that I have to find out about if I have a "smart" alternator.

 

It works. Just tested it out last week and it did what it is supposed to.

 

OP, I just want to check in here and see how things are going? I'm going to install one in my Tacoma to charge a Yeti 3000. Thanks!

 

Id also like to know too! Im about to wire it to my bed where I keep my 1000x, next to my fridge. How did you guys send the wire thru the bed, did you have to drill another hole?
