Need a part number for the little damper part for the hinge in the glove box.

I broke mine while replacing the cabin filter this summer. There are so many slightly different ones from Toyota models (which all look the same and come up when you google search) that I can’t tell which will fit and which won’t. I’m happy to put on another one if someone can confirm fit.

    part #s please?

Curious, why throw it out? I have been finding it annoying that it falls open when I forget it’s not there...

Mine is so slow when it's cold out. Like 30 seconds unless you assist.

Haven’t needed one for 50 years.
I find it annoying people think they actually need one.
I can actually open it and hold onto it at the same time. Lol
If you were a just a touch closer I’d give you mine..

Mine was broke when I got it. Dont really notice any difference. Acts like any other vehicle's glove box.

The 3rd time I replaced the cabin filter I left it off and haven't missed it at all. Mine rides in the glove box in case I hit my head and want to reattach it for some reason.

Same here. After several cabin filter changes, it wouldn't stay on any longer, so I just left it off. The glove box no longer glides down, but I'm OK with that...lol

Mine wasnt broken but it keeps popping out from the top clip. The clip gets squished in over time making the damper easier to pop off. I looked at my rav4 and there is a guard which prevents from popping out. Did quick fix get a small piece of wood and wedge it in btwn the gap to prevent it from getting squished together. Tested the glove box dropped about 50x quickly damper didnt fall out. Wished I could of taken pic w the wedge in there but tried to take off the damper it didnt want to come off.

    Just some stuff...
Is it still staying in place? I've got a 2008 that just started slipping off the clip also. Was thinking of some type of screw, but this might be easier.

yea still works fine. find a piece of wood/plastic/screw and wedge it inbtwn that gap. its not gona slip out.

i wouldnt buy a new one unless the entire end piece is broken off that way u have no choice.
