Glass tech got etching primer on my paint above windshield?

Just had a replacement done after waiting 2 months for oem glass.. The glass shop had some young guy doing most of the work. Long story short, they got black etching primer on the painted lip in two spots above the windshield and its not hard to see since my truck is white. Took the truck back to see what they could do about it and the older jackass supervising the younger one pulls out a putty knife and degreaser and starts hacking away at my paint.. How much does this shop owe me? Etching primer doesnt come off and if it did, the paint is still damaged and can possible rust? Anyone else deal with this garbage?

 

Take it to a reputable body shop and get a free quote. Then take said quote to the other place and demand they pay it … if not … well you can always small claims them

if you used your insurance to get a new windshield, contact them about the issue since the shop isn’t helping.

 

company owner came out to look at it and says he wants to redo it and that "the tape slipped" during installation and that it wont damage the paint... so two different stories I guess... I dont even want them to touch my truck again... but its apparently the only solution

Go through your insurance and they will deal with the shop.

 

What happened to them? They were there,, didn’t look too bad,,, if it was the sealant anyways, if it was removed paint, I’d be pissed.

as far as knowing what it is. I took the old crackhead that did the job at his word.. the glob is clearly a sloppy idiotic sealant job and the other shit is anyones guess
