Not nearly as polished in what way? The build quality on my ORU Bruin is on par with my GFC...a step below Vagabond and Treehouse...the bruin is also about the same weight as a V1 GFC and not much heavier than the V2. The tenfold is 100% in the same weight class. "Significantly" lighter is stretch.

As far as the cabover thing goes that because it has a full queen size bed and space at the end of the sleeping platform so no need to disassemble the bed. GFC's are awesome little toppers, but they almost serve a different purpose than the tenfold

Looking at a photo of a GFC and the Tenfold side by side, the Tenfold has a taller gap between the base of the overhang and the cab (enough space for a roofrack to fit under it), looks like it has a thicker collapsed "tent" section, no apparent integrated rails for mounting awnings or antennas or kayak racks or whatever, and small side windoors instead of barn doors. I'm not that any of that is bad, just that it looks less streamlined. (Yes, I know that the GFC's barn doors are partly blocked by crossbars and that it's got less living space and accessibility due to the design of the sleeping area, which is smaller than that on the Tenfold.)

Significantly lighter when compared to most of the other options out there. The Drifter and Lone Peak weigh 100-150 pounds more the last I checked, as does the Super Pacific. I want to say that the 4WheelCampers options are almost double the weight.

I was talking about the height over the cab's roof, not the length.

I’ll start off by saying I’m not arguing in favor of any of these campers, but just trying to give each camper a fair fight and clear up some things that I disagree with based on my experience with GFC, Vagabond, ORU, Topo, 4WC, and Snap!. I am in the process of doing a write up for all the campers I’ve owned…which is far too many.

    1) The gap between the cabover on a GFC and Oru is less than a couple inches if we are measuring from the sharks fin to the bottom of the camper/cabiver. I don’t have exact measurements with me, but the gap itself is hardly a talking point. Now, when we take into consideration the distance from the sharks fin to top of the camper that’s a bit different. This is because the camper portion on ORU is thicker so that it can fit bedding and a 4” mattress while closed (as can 4WC, Snap!, and my Drifter). The GFC does not come close to fitting a 4” mattress and bedding without some mods or serious creativity in my experience. In regards to offerings that allow hold kayaks, roof boxes, etc. Oru offers cross bars (and mounting hardware) for $199 per. They are almsot the same as the beef bars that GFC offers.

GFC does have T Slots on the side, while ORU dies not, you are correct there. The cabana doors GFC offers are also substantially larger than any other option, but also limit what can be mounted to the exterior, depending on usage this is a major pro or a major con. My comment regarding being “polished” was referring to build quality, not build design as it seems you’re referencing. I would agree that GFC are more streamlined. I would disagree that GFC is more polished, in regard to build quality.

    2) Vagabond/BAMF drifters base weight is less than 100 pounds more than a GFC. Having transferred both a GFC and vagabond without the assistance of a shop (as well as having both on my truck) I can say they are close enough in weight that it’s not really worth having a lengthy discussion. The ORU Tenfold I believe is listed as the same or within 25 pounds of a GFC as well. My issue with your original post is theat I wouldn’t consider any of the wedge or pop ups mentioned as significantly more weight, aside from 4WC’s. With that said, to me, I would categorize something more than 150 pounds in difference as “significantly”. If you think 100 pounds heavier is significant then obviously your categorization is warranted.
