I currently have an iKamper Skycamp Mini 2.0 on a Diamondback bed cover. I've been thinking about switching to a GFC for the increased utility and usability of the bed, however, I'm not sure it's worth it to pay the extra money while I already have my current setup. I camp plenty and love the tent and while the bed is workable it can be annoying to crawl to the back to grab gear.

Has anyone made the switch and GFC owners, what should I know about the camper that would steer me either way?

I don't own a GFC but a lot of people around here have started to pick them up. From what I've heard they love the functionality since you can climb into the truck bed (no more crawling to the back) and it's got a built in tent with a passthrough. Although I have been looking into one, they are pretty expensive. I actually have been looking for a setup exactly like yours now. With the front runner rack, can you still lift the Diamondback cover if I wanted to haul larger things?

Yeah, the racks are bolted into the front and rear panel of the diamondback and don't overlap the hinge points so the cover can still be opened for larger loads or easy access to the bed. With the tent on or any other gear, lumber, etc. on the crossbars, the cover can't be opened obviously. So with just the racks it's great and the cover still works as designed which is great but my issue is the tent is on there all the time so pretty much takes away all the functional access to the bed that the bed cover provides. I don't have the space to build a lift or storage rack for the tent to take it off while I'm not using it either which is why the GFC is appealing.
