Okay, I have 85,000 on my front and rear Fox 2.0 shocks. Its time to rebuild them before the new tires are installed. I will purchase what is necessary to do the rebuild and maintain them. What do I need to buy? I already have the heavy duty spring compressor. I will need a Nitrogen tank with what attachments? I am thinking I will change the needle valve to a regular shrader valve? What else?

This question will probably get the most reliable response from calling fox directly, or an authorized service center. I'm not experienced with what it takes to rebuild their automotive products, but I do know that for their mountain bike products, they weren't too keen on people other than authorized service centers trying to rebuild Fox suspension. They were not only tight lipped about the process, but there is usually a small handful of specialty tools required, that can only be purchased through them. Again, they don't tend to like to sell those to just anyone who wants to purchase them. I could be wrong; it's worth asking. Second to that, I would check youtube...finding a video of an authorized center doing a rebuild might be your second best bet. Just my .02

Get out your credit card and send them off to an authorized service center. Fox may not even sell you the parts you might need. There are times when doing it your self is worth while and times when it is not. Rebuilding/servicing your shocks is not one of them. If you need to do it often enough to justify doing it your self odds are you will be upgrading from 2.0. Having 85k on them it is obvious. Call www.accutuneoffroad.com and get them done.

From what I understand the Nitrogen should be checked every 10,000 miles and rebuilds around 50,000 for street use. I already have the floor spring compressor as mentioned. Since you need Nitrogen tank and associated parts to check fill might as well learn how to rebuild the seals and change the oil. I am not really interested in tuning them as they are pretty good as is so this mainly rebuild of seals if I am thinking correctly.

I check my Kings N2 pressure every 3 months.

You can get these soft jaws cheaper since you only need the two size instead of four.

They are not as easy to work on and can be a bit tricky adding nitrogen. They are not really designed to be rebuild friendly.

The regulator kit looks pretty decent. The tank filled runs about $120 for buying the tank and filling with Nitrogen. From what I understand you want the shutoff as close to the schrader as well as the pressure gauge in that spot.

My rears are the resi the fronts are not. I will have to look at the specs for them and report back.

Yes. After pressurizing the shock to desired pressure, close schrader valve first (for zero loss).

I get most of my bottles from cyberweld, except for my aluminum ones. HF sells N2 bottles as well.

Alright it looks like the front have the Fox IFP design. The rear has the resi. So based on Accutune these are a disposable item in theory. You wear them out and dispose once worn out, correct? So would this be check Nitrogen and fill, wait until worn completely then replace? Rebuild rear, charge front and rear then dispose as a complete set? Or replace all now with new set? Naturally, I can't replace tires until this decision is made. Throwing these ideas out there and waiting for feedback. Thanks!
