I'm getting an OTT in the next few weeks and I have a Manual Transmission 2022 OR and wanted to see how spicy to get the accelerator.

For those of you with the OTT and a MT, how spicy did you get the acceleration?

I went with lite throttle, the truck is my daily driver and we do get snow here so I figured it would be a good balance for normal conditions and the occasional slippery conditions. Haven't had to test it in slippery conditions yet but am pretty happy with it under normal circumstances, it feels much more like I would expect from a typical newer car but after about 25% input ramps up a bit more than would be expected from a newer car. I have the self tune kit so I could switch if I really wanted more but this has been great for me.

Lite and ECT button mild for me. I use lite most of the time.

You have a manual so you can be a little more aggressive. I did Medium on my manual (also snow country) I find it’s a good mix of aggressive without risking spinning the tires- I wouldn’t go more aggressive for sure - YMMV

also don't forget that OTT tune team allows you to try settings and you can always change your mind and switch to more or less aggressive tune

I got Spicy OTT with my 2023 TRD OffRoad 6MT, I luv it! It is my daily driver, and I don’t live in snow country. Throttle response instantenious. Whenever possible, I can shift all gears, in town. My OTT Tuner started out with Super Spicy, throttle was too sensitive, so drop down to Spicy.:D

22 TRD OR 6MT - Just got it tuned to Mild a couple of weeks ago. I do also have the ADM with Fern's disk. I have been really curious about Medium, but honestly Mild has been such a drastic change that I'm not sure I want anything different than Mild. Just spent all day Saturday in some pretty rough country in 4-hi and lo and the throttle response there is something to consider as well. It was PERFECT in 4-hi and lo with Mild throttle response. I fear Medium may be too much in those conditions.

    I have the DIY kit.
Started with Mild/Medium then moved up to Medium/Spicy ECT

Went back to Mild/Medium then returned to Medium/Spicy where it runs today.

Reason: there is a distinct pedal dead spot from stop that requires a sensitive foot.
Dropping back to Mild/Medium did not correct this, so I went back up a notch which I prefer.

    I have the automatic.
    Everything else is factory stock.

Maybe I shouldn't be responding because I have AT but I am Mild/Medium as well and agree it works well in 4hi and 4lo (it's my daily driver but going off road is my priority). I had a really knowledgeable and experienced tuner that has worked with the off road shop I went through. Also the guy that does all the work on my truck is an avid Toyota off road person so his advice was important. I filled out a pretty lengthy questionnaire as well as had a long discussion about what I was trying to accomplish both on and off road. I think a lot depends on where you live and how you use your truck and what you want from the tune. I think if I were just keeping my truck stock or just a few minor mods and never using it off road maybe a more aggressive tune . . . . ???????

Bottom line: talk to the tuner and like someone said you can always get it adjusted if it turns out to be too mild or too aggressive for your tastes.

I also should not be replying as I have an at. But I am medium and it was vast improvement in drivability and mpg!
I have contemplated going spicey as I haul a lot and it just feels like there’s more there to use that’s bottled up

Thanks, that's my consideration as well, I don't want something too spicy that will hinder its ability going off road because it's too sensitive.
