Hey everyone! I hate tire shopping, always have. I will be getting my Toytec lift put on next month and I wanted to know, for those that are running Toytec on a 3 inch lift, what size tire are you guys running? Did you have to trim anything or have to do a CMC with that size? I am wanting to stick with my stock off-road wheel for now and needing some ideas. Thanks!

No trimming or CMC issue if you go 33" pizza cutters. Less wear and power loss too.

im on a toytec lift & i just run 265/70/17 atm. once I go with 285s I will certainly get a cmc & pinch weld & cutting. :sawzall: I plan to do those mods first then get my 285s once my falkens are done. Hopefully by then my wife wont drive my truck as much :amen: Might even get some alumas by then!

That’s what I just got yesterday was their Aluma kit. I’m super stoked to get it and have everything else, lined up and ready to go. Toytec is going to install it so I want to make sure that truck is good to go with everything before I drive it back home @Kolter45

I’m facing the same decision. I’ve got Eibach 2.0 coilovers and rear shocks, SPC UCAs and Deaver 402s on the way. I don’t want to get into chopping anything, and would prefer to not go load range E on tires which really reduces all options I’ve seen for 255/85r16 wheels. I’m probably going with 265/75 Goodyear Duratracs or Falcon Wildpeaks. Both are about the same weight 45lbs/tire and 31.7” tall.

IMO stick with the 265’s better articulation off-roading don’t have to chop your truck for now.

I just don’t want it to look super funny lol @71tattooguy . I’m running stock sized nittos now and I actually dig em. Anyone here running stock tires and wheels on a 2-3 inch lift??

The benefits of the 265’s are hard to overlook vs the 285’s.

Don’t get me wrong, 285’s are sexy, but the only real advantage they offer is a 1/2” of ground clearance. On the other hand, there are plenty of problems associated with them.

These are 265’s with my Eibach setup:

@IrishRed damn that truck is sexy. What kind of wheels are those??? You guys are making me want to reconsider the tires, since they are practically new, and buy new wheels!!!!

Thank you, Sarah! My wheels are SCS Ray 10’s. The trick to making 265’s look good is paring them with wheels with the right offset and backspacing. If you do it correctly, like @71tattooguy & @eurowner have done above, the 265’s look pretty good with a mild lift and avoid all of the issues associated with running 285’s.

@IrishRed hey when you got those wheels installed did you need an alignment at all? And what is your offset on those? Sorry for asking so many questions

Just wanted to say, you have a bad ass setup right there, great looking truck. Is it the Eibach Stage 1? How about for the rear? Do you have any other pictures, specifically head on?
