I have a very nice Gentex 453 autodimming mirror available. Includes Homelink, Compass, and Temp functions. Heading and temp are displayed in the upper right corner in a small square area. Wire cover and harness are included. It is a simple 10 minute install that only requires tapping into the map light connector wires. Instructions for wiring in a 2005-11 Tacoma may be provided if desired. $190 shipped in the USA.

whats the difference between yours and those $100 ones from ebay?

 

I haven't seen any on ebay for $100 that offer compass, temp, and homelink. If you can get all of that for $100, I recommend snapping it up!

Edit: I looked them up and see they are the older 313 series. The compass inside of those is inferior, as is the light sensor. Mine is the newer 453.

This does look like a pretty sweet deal! Is compass and temp verified to work in the 09-11 4cyl trucks? I tried to install an overhead console from a 09 TRD and couldn't get a temp reading and compass would not re-calibrate. A universal problem for 4cyl for reasons yet to be found...

 

It should work in any vehicle. It just needs to be tapped into a ground, ACC power for the mirror, and constant power for Homelink. The temp probe would need to be located at the front of the truck. It has two wires that would be routed through the firewall and to the mirror. Temp probes are available on ebay, or I can include one that has two wire leads on it. The buyer would just need to add wire to each of the leads that is long enough to reach the mirror.

Yes, it will work. All you need to do is tap into a ground, constant power, and switched power. Those should be available on every make and model vehicle. You will also need a temp probe as mentioned above.
