I've read through the dual batt thread on technical chat. I'm wondering if anyone with a 2nd gen has had one for awhile, what sort of driving they are doing and how well that amount of weight has held up in the stock batt location. Also, any issues with the stock alternator charging those group 34's?

They recently released the new gen 3 setup and I'm eyeballing it.

I have some feed back for you. I just had to take my entire system out chasing a parasitic battery draw. I installed the Genesis dual battery system almost a year ago. The truck is only used in summer, nothing crazy as far as off-roading. Less than 10,000 easy miles since install. After removing both AGM batteries I discovered the tray was loose. After removing the tray I found the metal around 2 of the rivets disintegrated and the metal sound the other 4 on the way out. Needless to say, I’m glass I had the battery draw or this could have ended up incredibly costly. At least more so than trying to fab up a solution for the existing issue. I’ll be reaching out to Genesis as well. Sounds like their response has been that this is an uncommon issue. But from the research I’ve been doing, it’s pretty damn common.

Curious if anyone here has contacted Genesis to see if they are willing to make things right?

No issues so far, I've had it in the truck since they released it for the 2nd Gen and recently installed the new powerhub...

Had a similar issue with the structure under the tray. Had a rattle that I tracked down to be one of the screws holding down the tray.

After pulling up the tray I also had damage to the provided hardware and failure of the metal. To resolve this I added and drilled out two strips of 8th inch steel to add support. I also used machine screws with nuts where I could reach to prevent future rattles.

I don’t have any pics. My car is 98% daily driver. I highly recommend some support but otherwise the dual battery kit is great.
