I saw that when I was looking into JD Squared!

I mean I already own their press brake and love it.

I haven't tried 1.75" 0.120 but i've made some simple bends on 1.5" 0.95 wall which came out fine on the affordable bender

Man, promising results even with the cheap benders.

I've got an affordable bender. It's a bit of a PITA to use, and the CLR is a bit larger than most of the other options. That being said, it produces good bends, and I like how little space is takes up, and that you don't need to mount it. Perfect for someone doing an occasional project.

    Bends 1.75" .120 no problem.

I have the model 32, it works, but like mentioned above there communication / customer service needs some work.

When i bought my bender an die, i ended with the wrong die. It was for a different bender altogather. They denied making any mistake, an i ended up having to buy another die an wait months. An they refused to refund the wrong die saying there are no returns. Soo if anyone needs a 1.75 die for a jd2 model 54 let me know...

If I do end up buying a bender in that price range I think I'll try the swag. I hate supporting companies that wont stand by their work and communicate well.

I bought a Woodward Fab manual bender and the SWAG hydraulic ram kit. It ran me around $600 with 1.75" die set to have an air over hydraulic bender setup

I'm working on a design for a cantilever rear. I want to use some jeep bearing assemblies to pivot the lever around. My concern is water. The bearing looks sealed, should I do anything extra to protect it from the elements? I'm planning on leaving the splines exposed. I'm in Colorado so there isn't a ton of water here.

Why not a dana hub? They're easy to find, service, are sealed from the back with a dust cap etc.

I don't know a lot about dana other than they came on just about everything. The hubs I have were for a 2006 Rubicon which I though was a Dana 44. Either way, I already have these collecting dust in my garage.

I am also in the market for a tube bender. I was looking at the affordable bender linked above. I want to eventually build a roll cage and engine cage when I long travel my truck. But for now I will just use it to build a new front bumper. My current bumper is 2” .120 but the affordable bender doesn’t have the big of a size. Should I get the 1.75” and will that be fine for a roll cage in the future too, or should I just get a 2” one from jd?

    I'd skip JD in general.

1.75 is fine unless you’re linking your truck and swapping in a V8.

I was planning on linking the back but doubt I will ever swap in a V8. Maybe supercharge it but that would be a long time from now

What made you come to that conclusion? Just curious. I have no experience with any brand and just received my JD. Anything in particular to watch out for?

People ordering something, getting the wrong item, and being stuck with it (dies are expensive), items taking months to ship out, lacking in communication and customer service, and more.

I mean if you scrolled up you would've answered your own question.

I don't have these personal experiences, but I've known three different people in the last 2 years having bought a JD setup and all had a bad experience.

One of them even screenshotted me the email conversations of him asking for an update every few weeks. Terrible service and not a company I'd want to give my money to.
