So I have a 2014 Toyota Tacoma that has the standard touch screen double din. As someone who knows literally nothing about car audio is it possible to swap a the tacoma double din with a Gen 1 Tundras? Reason I am curious about this is I find it impossible to change music stations while driving without having to look at the screen, where as in my dads 1st gen tundra I can stay focused on driving and simple feel the button I want. I also like the look of OEM equipment and aftermarket double dins simple are way to flashy and throw off the interior, plus who doesn't love throwing in a cassette tape and jamming out?

I do like the blutooth in my Tacoma for playing spotify from my phone, did the first generation ever have a radio with this feature?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You're asking if the first gen Tacoma had a double din?

The radio in the 2nd gen Taco is not double-DIN. You would need a double-DIN adapter bracket from Metra, Scosche, etc. to physically mount the Tundra radio. You would also need to splice the harness.

1st gen Tundra radio never had Bluetooth for music streaming. Hell, 2nd gen Taco didn't get it until 2012 I think (when the interior refresh happened). You would need a separate Bluetooth adapter (like Belkin Aircast) that plugs into the aux port...

No, I know it does, cause my family owns a gen 1 tundra, more so did any of the gen 1 tundra radios have blutooth, I'm assuming not. Clarification: I would like to know if a tundra radio is a simple plug and play operation into the 2nd gen tacoma

    Edit: apparently not double DIN

sorry, what form factor is the newer tacoma radios? or is it a proprietary size? the radio in my 2014 looks to be the same size as the 1st gen tundra.

So what I am understanding is probably won't fit without custom brackets and would need to splice the harness.

You probably just need a dash kit and harness.

Proprietary. 2nd gen Taco radio faceplate is integral with the clock and airbag indicator. Anyway, the Metra or Scosche dash kits are relatively inexpensive. Most of the work will be trying to splice in the harness.
