IMG_6569.jpg I have been using the T4 since 2016 and the T3 since 2020. Overall, I think they are a great option, as long as you have the space available in your vehicle to haul them. The T3 fits in my FJ better, but I do like the room in the T4.

I’ve been looking at these tents. Your review is the best I’ve read hands down, an honest, full disclosure review. Excellent work, thank you!

Absolutely love mine. The quality of material and design is another level. When I first put it up I spent a good amount of time looking at all the little details of construction. So impressed. Wouldnt mind getting my hands on a T3X as well, for when I camp solo

Bought the T4 and could not find a way to haul it that was acceptable to me so I sent it back and got the T3X, lost the ability to stand up in the tent but still leaps and bounds better than my old backpacking tent.

Great review. I love my T4 even though I have only used it about 3 nights now. It deploys and packs up so fast and has changed camp setup for the better for me. I haven't yet experienced it in strong winds or rain/snow but suspect that setup right (guylines) it will be fine.

I got the green version so hopefully the bugs leave me alone. Also, something to note, the green is quite dark inside during the day (can be a pro or a con).

I also have one. Fantastic tent, quick set up and roomy. The only thing I dislike about it is it's size when folded up.

I also have the G6 Gazebo. Again fantastic, just large (bigger than tent) when folded up.

I have the T3X and spent about 10 nights under it last year. I bought it initially for solo camping, then got a girlfriend, who enjoys camping, so now its our tent. The T3X may be a little tight for 2 people PLUS gear, unless you're good at organization. Had I had foresight, I would have considered the T4-but then it wouldnt fit in the bed of the truck (with the tailgate up). The ease of setup of these remind me of the old Army Mobilflex tents, which were amazing.
I also get the thing about the stakes. They are junk. I got some spike stakes that work great. Stakes are usually the first thing replaced with tent purchases anyway. We have no experienced the tent in any heavy winds, or snow, but a good rain storm. No issues. Well, thats not quite true. The "birthing canal" entrance is a PITA. I usually rig a tarp up over the entrance, to prevent water entering into it. But, without that, you will get some drip and rain getting into and out of this thing.

Feel your pain, for everyones information the T4 will fit perfectly on top of a double cab roof rack.

Is the carrying bag adequate for exterior storage? Durable and water proof / resistant? Currently running a hardshell RTT but with a young baby and another on the way I think getting four into a RTT is going to start to become a thing of the past for me.

The 'overland' bag yes, great material, some extra pockets for additional gear. The standard bag I cant speak of, not sure.

The standard bag would be fine in light rain/mist but would probably soak through eventually in more inclement weather. The overland edition also comes with proper stakes and a ground mat so not a bad way to spend an extra $80 or so.

The T4 Overland comes with the waterproof/water resistant bag and would do just fine on the roof rack, I just really didn't want it up there.
The T3X on the other hand just comes with a regular duffel, I would imagine you would have issues if left out in the weather and they don't seem to sell a Waterproof version of it like they do with the T4.

To be clear the bag with the T3X is just fine as is and seems like a quality built, sturdy bag.

Thanks. I would want the T4 size but since it doesn't fit in the short bed it would go on the roof. Don't want to worry about the weather so overland edition it is, should I decied to go back to the ground.
