My gauge cluster won’t work intermittently. I have had this issue for over five years now. However, it has gotten progressively worse. It used to only happen on hottest days (90deg plus), now it pretty much only works in the winter time.

I purchased a second cluster. however, that did not fix the problem. I’ve read a few forms that mention something about a speed sensor causing it or even a bad ECU. Has anyone dealt with this issue, I’m about to start buying new parts but was hoping someone on here could give me a head start.

When it doesn't work is the whole thing dead or just certain gauges?

Problems like that can be an absolute nightmare to troubleshoot. The fact that it's temperature dependent (at least to some degree), and getting slowly, progressively worse makes me think electrical connection. If a new cluster didn't fix it or change any of the symptoms, than you can probably rule out the cluster. I would start with the cluster connector(s). Start wiggling things, moving wires, flexing connectors, etc. Eventually, you should see the cluster act up, and then you are probably in the right place.

the whole thing goes out, all gauges, even the oil maintenance light. Blinker lights still work, and if I hit the odometer I get my mileage but it goes out again.

also, when I plug in the OBDII using TIS it connect but there is no module information… all things pointing to a bad ECU.

Sounds like its losing the power feed from the gauge fuse, you need to check connector C9 Pin 21 Violet wire at the cluster for power when it's not working.

When this happens, does the headlight indicator still function?
(These lights are powered off a separate feed than the other lights)
Just a quick test to help get you pointed in the right direction -faster /maybe?

That would be another verification that the ground is good but he said the turn signal indicators work and they use the same ground so that tells me it's probably good.

Did you ever figure this out? Sounds like my 2010 is having the same issue.

What kind of issue are you having with it?

Dash turns off if the weather gets too hot.
Found a bundle of wires that I can wiggle to get it to come back for a bit but haven't pursued it much further yet.

Well that would be a start, if there's a connector in that area that would be a spot to check.
