I have a base 2000 tacoma 2.4 sr5 extra cab long bed. My gauge cluster has no tachometer or trip odometer. By the way the odometer I have is not digital.
I was wondering if anyone knows much about swapping out compatible gauge clusters that have tachometer and trip odometer. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks Ralph

Get a scanguage. Lots less hassle and you can read CEL codes. Saw it here in forums, read up and rigged a way to mount it below ash tray. Spikerengineering also offers a mount for drivers side window brace at oh crap handle.

It's possible. Theres a few wires that need to be switched or added to the D plug on cluster. Just find one without digital odometer and doesn't use a speedo cable. Assuming yours doesn't have a speedo cable.

I have almost the same situation. The dealer broke my lens and as the part is out of production all they did was give me $50 to replace a part that can’t be found. Very annoying. Thanks Mueller Toyota.

My temp gauge broke years ago and i put in a scan gauge and it is great (just plugs into the OBD 2 outlet). It even lets me reset the P0136 code every time it comes up! It’s worth the investment and additional data that you get when you don’t have a tach or other useful gauges (including instantaneous and avg gas mileage, rpm, coolant temp, inlet air temp, and numerous other bits of interesting data).

Please let us know how you solve this as I’d be interested to have a new lens and possibly gauge if the price is right.

    Good luck.
